I recently received an e-mail from Dan, who is vacationing in Italy and Germany. He said he toured the canals of Venice in 20 degree weather and was headed to Bavaria to meet with David Hasselhoff.

Why there is a whole thread about my whereabouts, much less 14 replies to it, is beyond me. Oh well.

Yes, I am pretentious and I'm touring Italy and Germany. I spent a week in Italy staying with my sister near Aviano. We visited Venice, Padua, and many other northern sights. We then drove up to Garmisch-Partenkirchen which is nestled in the German Bavarian Alps. I have internet access at the place we're staying and nothing to do between skiing all day and going out to a Beer Hall in a few hours.

The switch to Euros threw Italians for a loop. I was in a Street Market in Sacile on January 2nd and gave a chick some Euros for cheese and I think I made her faint trying to do the conversion and give me change with the tens of coins they have. The cheese was good. The Germans are a little better at it because the Duetchmark was a least close to the Euro (2-1) unlike the Lira which was like 1981 Lira equals 1 Euro. And for us Americans it's great because the Euro is almost identical to the dollar.

Anyway, I see there is lots of drama in my absence. Have fun and enjoy your Ron and Fez Goodness.
