my boss wants to start a 'chat' board for customers using vbulletin
maximum registered users would be 5000
probably more like 2000 really
will be loads of pictures though

who should we use for the hosting?

ive heard many names starting with godaddy
but i have no clue

which is most reliable and easy to work with?

cost is not the issue.

thanks!

I use BlueHost and have for several years. I love it, great service, and awesome bang for the buck. I highly recommend them.

I also suggest phpBB for open source but may not meet all your needs right off the bat.

ultraforce.org I am currently rebuilding it, but it is a gaming site and we go back to 1999. When I switched hosts 5 or so years ago the transfer of data was not that smooth.

thats what we are afraid of
so we want to choose someone
where we won't want to or have to switch down the line
thanks again

BlueHost is where it's at. Before we were a sub-domain on a crappy el-cheapo host. I forget who but we had more failures than the former FBA did.

I have had 0 loss and one 15 minute downtime at midnight with BlueHost, plus I also backup the board to my own network HD just for safety.
