Pretty damn close. I'm talking "Who Run Batertown" close and we're fighting Master Blaster in Thunderdome.

The Capital Markets Subcommittee Chair, Rep. Paul Kanjorski of Pennsylvania, tells C-Span how the world economy almost collapsed in a matter of hours. (http://www.boingboing.net/2009/02/09/rep-kanjorski-550-bi.html)

<object width="425" height="344"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/_NMu1mFao3w&hl=en&fs=1"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/_NMu1mFao3w&hl=en&fs=1" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="425" height="344"></embed></object>

Kanjorski: "The Treasury opened its window to help. They pumped a hundred and five billion dollars into the system and quickly realized that they could not stem the tide. We were having an electronic run on the banks. They decided to close the operation, close down the money accounts, and announce a guarantee of $250,000 per account so there wouldn't be further panic and there. And that's what actually happened. If they had not done that their estimation was that by two o'clock that afternoon, five-and-a-half trillion dollars would have been drawn out of the money market system of the United States, would have collapsed the entire economy of the United States, and within 24 hours the world economy would have collapsed."

"It would have been the end of our political system and our economic systems as we know it."

Ted Turner has a different story. Sorry that I don't have links, just a family source from Montana.

Ted allegedly said that methane from cows' feces is largely responsible the depletion of the ozone. Good thing is that Ted is aware of the alternative. Bison. Ted has one of the largest Bison ranches in the country located near Bozeman, MT.

I think it would be great to convert methane from cows' waste just to shut him up.

Damn, so close!

That's kinda how I feel. Next time, just roll the dice. Did anyone else see the name Rep. Paul Kanjorski of Pennsylvania really fast and think that Eagles great Ron Jaworski was suddenly an economist?

I would like to have seen Montana.

Nice one.

Bison are ruminants as well. The only difference between bison and cows is bison don't do very well on corn and need to be ranged on grasses instead.

If we take the cows' waste and find a good way to convert it to usable fuels, we're justifying the continued "cultivation" of cattle by getting several uses out of them.

Read the article. I was searching for one about pig poop that came out a few years back, but I couldn't find it. Maybe if I check my e-mail, 'cause I sent it to my dad with a note alluding to the Mad Max scenario in Thunderdome.
