I'm thinking of stopping into my local record store during lunch. While fairly certain of the direction I'm headed, is there anything you think I need to hear? To give a frame of reference, here is a little bit of what I've been listening to of late:
Dr. Dog
Wu-Tang
TV on the Radio
Silver Jews
Malkmus and the Jicks
Conor Oberst
Broken Social Scene
Los Campesinos!
Monotonix
Thin Lizzy

Again, that's not like a list of favorites, just what I can recall playing lately.

Anywho... Thoughts, suggestions?

I know or own most of the afore mentioned. I'll look into Page France and Cardinals as in Ryan Adams and the..?

The jury is still out on the Hold Steady with me. I just don't know if I can fully get into it.

I just read a bit about this, seems quite good. If I can find it, I'll check it out.

with a girl to set the mood, i'd go with The Like. I just found them today and they have a real calm cool makeout vibe to them.
