I have alot of comics that I am currently putting boards and backs on. Like 500-1000 and I ve decided I'm not putting them in any particular numerogical or alphabetical order. I have to get this done and I can't take the time. I stopped collecting but I want these comics to remain intact for future generations of lleeder offspring. They will be boxed up and put in the attic for years possibly decades. Will they appreciate my hard work or be pissed at my organization skills? All my old boxed up stuff is in correct order but this new stuff won't be.

If your spawn end up being geeks, maybe you can convince them that it's good Daddy-kid bonding time to organize them "together" ... then you sneak back downstairs and crack open a couple beers while you watch football and "forget" to head back upstairs to help.

Yeah, cause I'm really into the stuff my parents were.

Thanks for the redd fox 8-tracks....and all these little mini-records
.

Put them in order so it'll be really easy for them to sell'em.

Who doesn't enjoy a Redd Fox 8-track? Your parents sound really fun.

Yeah, but we're talking about COMICS not the fucking Archies on 8-track.

Comics are great ways to bond with geeky kids. If my dad still had his comic collection, I'd totally organize it for him.

It'd take me 3 months to get through one box because I'd probably stop and read every one of his back issues of Superman.

I just remember how pissed I was knowing my dad had great comics and cards and threw them out before I got to have them. Maybe my kids won't have an interest or mybe I'll get back into them. I can't get rid of them. Not unless thats the one thing keeping me from needing money for food.

Yeah, that's part of the reason we don't have Dad's comics anymore.

I think everyone's dad threw away the world's greatest comic collection when they were kids.
my dad used to tell me bought Action Comics #1 when he was a kid, and lost it somewhere. but when he told me he just said it like,"yeah, whatever". Even if you're not into comicbooks the thought of how much that thing is worth today should drive you crazy if you once owned it

I saw one of the remaining Action Comics #1 issues still in existence at the Met as part of the Superheroes and Fashion exhibition back in July.

It was a massive thrill.

I'm sure my kids will be happy I saved Antman #6 for them.

I'll give you 5 bucks for the Redd Foxx 8 track.

i just organized a bunch of my comics yesterday. i don't have nearly as many as you but it took me a good 3 hours. i have a little more than 3 short boxes worth of single issues and a bunch of graphic novels. i say you don't need to organize them if you are just putting them up in the attic. if your future kids do get into comics, it could be fun for them to just search through them themselves and organize them if they want to.

So your parents liked Redd Foxx and you are complaining?

i hope someday you and your kids have the type of relationship where you share past memories and sit around looking at your old comic books.

if it were my dad it would probably be him willing them to me, and me wondering why a guy i've never spoken to as an adult felt the need.

i always forget that most people don't abhor any contact with their family.
