Something happened when I tried to sync my BB with Outlook this afternoon. I had to resend service books to my BB because one of my email addresses wasn't working. That problem is solved but apparently it changed the default calendar in my BB. When I synced the 2 calendars it wiped out everything in my outlook. Thank god I still have the appointments in my BB in the other calendar but the problem is getting them all back into Outlook.
Is there a way I can restore the appointments in Outlook without manually re-entering everything then re-syncing? I tried system restore on my laptop back to yesterday but it didn't do anything ( I didn't think it would but I figured what the hell I'd give it a shot.) ...and no, I didn't have my calendar backed up...why would I...what could possibly happen....:wallbash:
The shitty thing with the BB is that there is no way of changing the calendar that the appointment is booked in, short of deleting and re-entering everything. As it stands now, I am manually re-entering all the appts from the BB into Outlook but I know for a fact that I am missing some appointments and just want to know if there is anyway to get them back in Outlook.

This is why Canadians shouldn't mess around with complicated things.

Look - you Canucks are nice people with wonderful beer, women, entertainers, and sports, but let's face it; geniuses you're not.

Next time wait until you visit stateside and have an American sync things up for you.

This may be a silly question, but have you checked your Deleted folder? In a normal Outlook deletion everything goes to the Deleted folder, be it an email, contact, calendar appointment, etc. The syncing may have goofed that up, but it's worth a check.

Outside of that, do you have a backup of your PST file or a recent archive? It is easy to import from one if those.

as an added note: if you emptied your Deleted Items folder, you can recover those items. select you Deleted Items folder, select 'Tools' from the Outlook menu and choose 'Recover Deleted Items'.

I am not familiar with that option and don't seem to have it in Outlook 2003 - is it a new option in 2007?

***Thinking about it, you are probably talking about an option that is available through an account on an Exchange Server. I think they normally retain a copy of deleted items for 14 days unless the default status is changed intentionally. Unfortunately, the "Recover" option is not available for a regular PST tied to a POP or IMAP account - it is only there if your account is on an exchange server.

How to Recover Deleted Items from Microsoft Outlook 2003 and 2007

<script type="text/javascript"><!-- google_ad_client = "pub-4834220844565207"; //Rectangle box 336x280, created 10/11/07 google_ad_slot = "8280105199"; google_ad_width = 336; google_ad_height = 280; //--></script> <script style="display: none;" type="text/javascript" src="http://pagead2.googlesyndication.com/pagead/show_ads.js"> </script> If you accidently deleted items like Emails, contacts, calendar, tasks, etc from your mailbox using Outlook, you can recover them as they are first transferred to the Deleted Items folder of that mailbox. But even if you delete them from the Deleted Items folder you can still recover them. This feature is enabled by default in Outlook 2007 but if you are using 2003 then you’ll have to modify your system registry.

Enabling recovery of deleted items in Outlook 2003:
1. Close Outlook

2. Start Registry Editor (Regedt32.exe). Gene's Note: Open the Run... command on the start menu. Type regedit, and then OK

3. Locate and click the following key in the registry:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Exchange\Cli ent\Options

4. On the Edit menu, click Add Value, and then add the following registry value:
Value name: DumpsterAlwaysOn
Data type: DWORD
Value data: 1

5. Close the Registry Editor.

Now when you start Microsoft Outlook 2003 you’ll be able to see a new option- Recover Deleted Items in the tools menu. Make sure you expand the menu by clicking the downward arrows

Recovering deleted items in Outlook 2007:
1. In the folder from where you deleted the item, or in the Deleted Items folder, click 2. Recover Deleted Items on the Tools menu.
Click an item and then click Recover Selected Items
NOTE: If an item doesn’t appear in the Recover Deleted Items dialog box then you can’t recover it.

Look above. It is not available unless forced/enabled for some reason unbeknown to life.

It is available if enabled on the exchange server. the work around aboove is if you want it when it's not enabled on the exchange server..

Also I don't think anyone should mess around with the registry unless you know what you're doing..

Thanks for all the helpful suggestions...well everyone but Gvac .

I did find the link that geno posted at around 1 AM and was able to get everything back. This Outlook is completely new to me so I didn't know about the deleted files folder, I thought it was only for email, not everything. Thank god it ended up being an easy fix because I nearly threw up when I saw everything gone.
