Ron is a self proclaimed "High School shop major" who was kept out of medicine and law by school and tests. He has also gone on to become a voracious reader and student of many things as his knowledge of diverse topics seems to know no bounds.
So suppose that this quest for knowledge and intellegence was begun while he was still a student.
What would Ronnie B Be?

Short answer? He wouldn't be the man he is today. The quest and desire for knowledge is borne out of a myriad of things, least of which is the mind of a teenager and the influence his parents and professors exert upon him when he enters college.

Every person I know that is well versed on a variety of topics and has some depth of character has led a life similar to Ron's, not a guy who knew what he wanted to be when he was 15 years old and set about to do it. Guys like that are interesting for other reasons, but they're not someone you'd talk to for any kind of real guidance or insight on matters pertaining to anything other than what they majored in.

That being said, if Ron WAS an egghead he probably would have majored in philosophy or liberal arts and be working for peanuts in a cubicle somewhere.
