Alright, so I've been having sleeping problems for about the past year or so. It's not a matter of waking up, being tired, it's the opposite. I'm always awake, never tired, and full of energy. I can't go to sleep at night.

It starts with my schedule. My school and work, all start at 2pm. I don't need to go to sleep early. So I just stayed up. But, here's where the problem kicks in. If I go to bed at 11, and wake up at 8, I can't go to bed until 1. Repeat over and over till it keeps getting fucked up. Even if I have 5 hours of sleep, I'm wide awake. It's so strange but it upsets me cause all I wanna do is be normal and go to bed on a regular basis.

Last year, I was starting to take NyQuil to put me to sleep at 3 in the morning. I stopped that and moved on to Melatonin. But I just don't want to take it anymore.

So the reason I'm starting this is because just tonight. I took at quick nap at 8pm, and woke up at 9:30. I'm not going to be tired at all for the whole night. So I have a bunch of herbal stuff and NyQuil, just to go to sleep at 4am.

So anyone have any ideas, not with medicine, to help me go to sleep at night at a regular basis? Anything would be appreciated.

CCC started a similar thread HERE. (http://www.ronfez.net/forums/showthread.php?t=76748)

I'd ask Dr. Steve to see if there are any medical reasons for the sleeplessness, but I'm of the belief it's a combination of mental and physical.

I'd stop napping maybe?

Not everyone needs 8hrs of sleep? Why do you want to sleep more of your life away?

If your schedule changes every semester, I don't know if you have a sleep problem. Napping can be destructive if you don't need eight hours- I got to a point once where I would nap for three hours every ten hours without having a day or night. That cycle was really hard to break. Force yourself to stay up to the "normal" bedtime for a 2 pm "morning" a couple days in a row and see if that helps.
