When I was living in Metzgaread, Germany with my girlfriend, Her Father (Gerhard) was walking back from a New Year Folks Fest in the next by town.

He was shitfaced and was walking the road home when he passed out in thorn bushes. He slept there till very early the next morning. When He arived at the house my girlfriends mother (Gertrude) remark to us all later how , when he came to bed he had Black bread with Fat all over his chest. And it wasn't fresh. HAHHAHHAHHAHHAA!

my mom bakes a gigantic rolled roast
every christmas
it has like half an inch of fat on the top and sides
which is salted and peppered

it is baked at really high heat for a while
and then the heat is turned down and it is baked a couple more hours

when done, the fat is ultra crispy and flavorful
she has to keep us at bay with the carving knife
so we dont pick off all the fat before dinner is served

I have to agree on the steak part anyway. I have the butcher leave the fat on when I buy ribeyes, at least mine. When marinated in "winchester sauce (http://ninecooks.typepad.com/photos/uncategorized/2007/04/10/worcestershire.jpg) (what I heard someone call it down here)", then eaten hot and crispy, there's nothing better. It has a sweet taste.

Next door to it will be another restaurant that is all boneless skinless chicken breasts for my former clients that used to eat skin but have since had to have multiple bypass surgeries.
