Just got back from the concert at MSG. Really good show. A young band achieving their goal to play a sold-out MSG. They spared the audience the obligatory drum solo and the back 2 back guitar riffs and played all their popular songs. Also a lot of seriously hot ladies too:devil2:

To be completely honest, I just can't get into them because I can never understand what ol' mushmouth the lead singer is singing.

Theyre the rich man's Wolfmother, which pretty much makes them a less turdy turd sandwich

Yeah, I like em too. Would have tried to go see the show, had I known they were here. Yet another band I discovered through the Ron and Fez show.

And yes, they can be a bit hard to understand, but a few trips to one of many lyric server websites will clear that right up.

Love KoL! And yes, Caleb is a big mushmouth, but it fits the music. He does have a need to be recognized...

They just played Madison Square Garden and had a hugely selling album. What more do you want for modern rock music?

I liked that Holly Roller Novacaine EP that came out some time ago. To be honest, I haven't heard all of their new stuff. But, from what I have, it didn't do much for me.

So much more.

I just don't get these guys, and I really tried when they first came out, but that first EP and then the album just came across as really forced and sloppy attempts at some kind of vague southern rock retread. Everything I've heard since seems to be shedding the weak southern vibe they had to begin with and it all ends up like the product of the generic "alt.rock" world.

I can't lie, i really like Aha Shake Heartbreak...but then I went and revisited a band I used to listen to years ago (http://profile.myspace.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=user.viewprofile&friendid=70282415) and I lost some appreciation for Kings of Leon.

More like Kings of Pee on. Whatever, I guess they're okay. Kind of bland and everything starts to sound the same after a while.

I like this band. I've only heard three songs but, what I've heard.... I've liked.

There's something quite unique about their songwriting:
The choruses are invisible. They're not real choruses. They're sort of... implied.

Listen to "Notion". No chorus.
Even "Use Somebody" kinda doesn't have one.
"Sex Is On Fire" has just a hint of a chorus.

Interesting stuff. It's poppy, and radio friendly, but... the choruses are not clearly defined.
