1) The three parts thing is pissing people off, since it's buy each version to play thru as each race.

However, Kotick said Activision would push back the launch of two games, "Singularity" and the highly anticipated "StarCraft II" into 2010. "StarCraft II" is a PC-based science fiction game from Activision's Blizzard Entertainment unit, the producer of the online multi-player title "World of Warcraft." The game had been expected to launch this fall in time for the holiday shopping season, which is typically the busiest business period for the video game sector.

I think its better to make sure its perfect before shipping it then finding out you put out some rushed to selves SHIT. The other hand is that you might have peoples hopes too high and disapoint.

Either way SC2 better be fucking epic. Hows the beta play? Anyone got some hands on opinions?

I have the Collector's Edition coming. For an extra $40 bucks you got some art book, a WoW in game pet and the original game with an expansion pack on a thumb drive. I thought that was worth the extra money.

Oh, there's also a soundtrack CD. Yea that's completely worth the extra money now.

Im so motherfucking pissed off at Amazon right now. My friend and I ordered the collector's edition of this game from Amazon the same fucking day within an hour of each other.

He had his delivered today and mine is still in processing. I have an August 4th delivery date. What the fuck? I E-mailed them and got a fucking form letter back, of course.

Sadly this is one of the best RTS games to come out in a long time. Blizzard took every advancement made by the genre in the past bunch of years and tossed them all in the garbage. They made Starcraft again, except new and with prettier graphics. I am solidly placed in the Bronze league but its a lot of fun. Played a couple 2v2 and 4v4 matches today and it was all a blast.

Placement, garrisoning buildings, the way your units face, cover systems.. Blizzard said F U to all of that and made a great game.

True. They also brought long elaborate cinematics back. Some developers claim that they distract from the gameplay, I think that they are a reward for good gameplay. Not a bad single-player story. The only complaint I could possibly have is that the 3 times or so you have to make a pre-mission decision, it doesn't feel all that important. Instead of having those decisions and therefore 6 missions, of which you only play 3, they could have actually had 6 missions and no decisions, and extended the storyline a little.

Well I finally got my Collector's Edition from Amazon a week or so ago. It was well inside Amazon's delivery estimate but I was still pissed that my buddy ordered his the same day, within an hour of me, and had his about 4 or 5 days earlier.

But the game is amazing. It looks beautiful, plays well and the cinema scenes are really cool. I feel they add to the story without distracting you at all.

I also like how the menu screens look like full motion video of the characters in a bar, on the bridge of their ship, etc. You select what you want to do while it looks like the characters are sitting there doing things. Lots of extra shit too, I really like that you can click the TV and get news reports that just add little things to the story.

Overall I think it's a really good game.

Garrisoning buildings? You can only put troops into two buildings. Bunkers and Command Center for marines. I dont think there is any for Zerg or Protoss. Unless you are just refering to building them in one place.....which you basically do anyway.

No, see, I said Blizzard said F U to that, as in they tossed it all out the window and went back to the basics. The things I mentioned were the advancements made over the past 12 years in the RTS genre, Blizzard took none of them and made Starcraft all over again, except prettier, and with larger control groups.

What is everyone ranked in multiplayer?

I am firmly in the Bronze league. Zerg is my race of choice, really for no reason other than I played a lot of them in SC1 so I figured I would do the same here.
