As if you didn't believe that Mr. Lucas was what is commonly called a sell out

"A few of the 'NSYNC guys will appear in "Star Wars - Episode II: Attack of the Clones," according to a spokesperson from Lucasfilm.
The spokesperson didn't know specifically which members have cameos in the movie, which will be the fifth "Star Wars" release from creator George Lucas. The guys will be seen for a fleeting moment in a "big scene with lots of extras."

The roles materialized after the group members, who are all fans of the sci-fi saga, asked the new film's producer, Rick McCallum, for bit parts. "

It stinks

anyone want to join me in a picket line when this thing comes out?Only if we get to beat up the tools who are dressed up after camping out for days. If you're dressed like Yoda while waiting as if you're going to see AC/DC in the mid-80s before online ticketmaster and only one show being played you deserve to be bashed in the face with a sign or staked like a vampire. These people should not be allowed to procreate and chances are, they aren't.

Am I going to see the movie? Yes provided it's no more activity than walking in and just buying the bloody ticket.

you shouldn't prohibit geeks from procreating with eachother.

Who would work at the jobs that us people with more productive lives wouldn't care to do?

A hardcore star wars fan at the Star Wars II premiere:
"I've been waiting on line for two days! This is gonna be great!"

A hardcore Wtar Wars fan work:
"You want to supersize those fries for 25 cents more?"

Lucas = Sellout

They should just scrap the franchise now, he just turned it into shit now. It makes no sense to see episodes 2 or 3. Jesus, this sucks ass.

For those interested in what the movie is exactly about, apparently a major aspect of it is a love story so it looks like Lucas is trying to attract teen girls more than the prime Star Wars fan base (losers- no offense, I grew up on the movies and look at me so I know).

WHAT! are they trying to make a bigger love story than Han & Leia's in the Empire Stikes Back?

after posting I realized that someone was going to bring up Han/Leia but if you think of Empire as a whole the relationship was sort of in the background and was definitely not the focal point of movie. From the trailers it seems like it may be or at least that's to reel in the girl factor.

I see your point, ikeaboy. But if thats the cases, how come lucas doesn't focus more on the turning to the dark side and clone wars instead of doing a titanic version of star wars?

a) Lucas is a sell out and he realizes Titanic did boffo BO and he wants boffo BO and teen girls were more the target for TItanic than nerdy boys.
b) The relationship MAY NOT be the big thing in the movie, it may be about the clones and turn to the darkside but if you look at the current trailer the first half is all about Anakin and Abadaba's relationship. Flowing waterfalls, beautiful grass. no mention of clones at all. Even the teaser poster says "A Jedi may not feel anger or fear or love."

Lucas doesn't care about increasing his fan base. He only cares about money and all the mindless 12 year old girls who like nsync will be their parents to go see episode II.

Do you think the NSync fans really care about star wars?

As for the love story, I don't really care about it. Anyways, how else would luke and leia be born.

Well, Amidala might have been raped anyway. Who knows what episode three will reveal?

well he's definitely in it, he's in the trailer but doesn't speak. as Anthony said, the only way he can get fans back with Jar Jar is with his death early on.

Backstreet Boy Nick Carter Arrested

TAMPA, Fla. (AP) - Backstreet Boy Nick Carter was arrested on suspicion of refusing to follow police officers' orders to leave a nightclub after a fight broke out.

The youngest of the five-member pop group at age 21, Carter was charged early Wednesday with a misdemeanor count of resisting/opposing a law enforcement officer without violence. He was handcuffed, placed in a squad car and released on his own recognizance.

His first court appearance is set for March 4, Tampa Police spokesman Joe Durkin said Thursday.

Police were called to the Pop City nightclub early Tuesday evening because of a fight. They returned to the nightclub later in the night to break up another disturbance. While officers made arrests and tried to restore peace, Carter became involved in an argument with a woman, according to the arrest affidavit.

He was told to leave the nightclub more than 10 times until officers told him to leave by ``the count of 3'' or he would be arrested. Carter continued the argument and was arrested, the affidavit said.

``Outside of who this defendant is, it's not that unusual a thing to happen,'' Durkin said.

Carter, who lives outside Tampa, is the second Backstreet Boy to run into trouble in recent months. In July, A.J. McLean spent time at a rehabilitation center for depression and alcohol abuse, forcing the group to postpone its U.S. and Canadian tour. McLean, who turns 24 next week, has said he's been sober ever since.

Sonya Muckle, vice president of publicity for Jive Records, the Backstreet Boys (news - web sites)' label, did not immediately return a phone call seeking comment Thursday. Yahoo! News
