View Full Version : Is Gap Finally Done?

I don't know exactly how long this has been going on but it has to stop. This film has been discussed by Paul-o endlessly for at least two years. Its available no one cares can we please move on. We've heard the calls about people not getting their copies sent out to them. We've heard the calls from Crotch Critter complaining about not getting paid back. We know Dave was cut from the film. We know Paul-O is broke. This story is done. This film is done. Move on Paul-O. You had 5 hours to promote the show between O&A and Ron & Fez. You did nothing, you explained nothing and you sold nothing. Go back to reviewing movies and doing stunts.

You should have stuck with the "nothing" theme.

I agree enough with "The Gap". Although it was funny hearing the dissection on O&A today.

I feel bad enough for Paul O that I don't get too annoyed at his plugs but he needs to censor himself down to 30 seconds per call.
Rambling on and on about the same things and even using the same sentences to describe them is very tiresome dario.
"I've had a lot of things going on this year..." :surrender:

I got infuriated by just LISTENING to this movie on O&A. I got further infuriated with his explanations of his choices, deeming each choice intentional. But it did make for good radio. Let me guess, Paulo, making this movie was intentionally to make good radio.
Let a man have his dream and chase it. Even if there's nothing more foolish than a man chasing his own hat.
I have to agree with lleeder here. I like PaulO and I sympathize with him on some level, but this bit has run its course.
Paul wanted to make a low-budget, art-house horror flick. He accomplished that goal, and to hear him speak about it he's extremely proud of the final result. That should be enough to fulfill him. Did he honestly expect to become wealthy from the sales?
I hope Paul can clear his head and move on.

I usually go the opposite. Why not tell someone the truth, even if its bad. At least they know you are being honest and tryin to help them.
And if its your friend, why would you just placate him or her and cause them to keep doing something that sucks?

about Paul O reviewing movies
i've realized that he never really reviews movies. He reviews the reviews the movies are getting. I can't think of anytime he has said an opinion, like "i liked this movie" or "i didn't like this movies"...he talks about the movies like "the critics really like Mickey Rourke's performance and it could be nominated for an oscar"
hes more of a movie reporter than a critic because he doesn't critique anything

I knew the movie would be bad, but HOLY SHIT! Like Louis CK said,"where did the 10k go?"
He could have hired an amateur movie crew for the three days. Then sent the thing to a a real studio for editing.
How about hiring some out of work actor for the day, because Paul-Os acting is as bad as his whining.
Can someone go through all Paul O's calls and just put together all his, "I am at the end of my rope. I have nothing to live for. I don't know if I can get through this." How many years are you teetering on the edge. Either jump or realize you aren't that close to the edge.
It was 10k to get together with Melly. That $9,999.99 hitting you in the back is your change Paul 0.

Louie CK is a brilliant man. and he was able to explain GAP better than i ever can
and i told Paulo that i would give the new cut a chance, so im just talking about the version i saw at the Hard Rock, that i sat on the floor in the very front to give it a serious chance
but i'm the type of person that would loooooooooove an "anti-film". I love Troma films. I loved the Oingo Boingo movie "The Forbidden Zone". Shit, i even watched Uwe Boll's "Postal" last weekend and got enjoyment out of that. I am part of that very small percentage that would be his audience for GAP.
But PaulO just didn't give a shit. He didn't care. He thought he could put the camera on him and he can babble on and on and after 15mins kill someone and that would be enough for a movie. The rest is just him bullshitting what the movie is trying to do
But talking about what GAP is trying to be is worthless cuz whatever its suppose to be it fails at it. It reminds me of "Southland Tales" because I could talk about "Southland Tales" and try to figure out what they were trying to do and what they were going for..but it doesn't matter because whatever that film was suppose to be, it failed because theres no one who responded to that film. There is no "Southland Tales" appreciation society who think its the greatest film ever...no one gives a shit about that movie. And thats GAP...no one will ever respond to it because its just garbage.
Louie CK also talked about that film he made when he was working for Cablevision where the guy who just ramble and say a poem and then show a jar of his Pee. To try to be arty and to make an "anti-film" and all that is infantile filmmaking..something any emo 14 year old would try to do. No matter what kind of art you are making...film, music, paintings....if there is no response from anyone then its a failure
and btw, i ordered "Last Night in Brooklyn", the delivery date is Feb 2nd...I can not wait to get that movie and i will give it the most honest review i can. The only thing i really know about that movie is that Franklyn gives a shit about his movie and i can guarantee that it will be leaps and bounds more successful as a film than Gap.

Well... when you make something that you're trying to get other people into, you gotta try to sell them on it, even if the baggy it's in does vaguely smell o' shit... y'follow me?
That'd be like me writing an essay and then turning around and saying 'but I don't want anybody to read it because it sucks and it's not emotionally healthy for me to think it's good when it's not.'

more than just a spelling mistake. Wow, way to treat the reason you have stayed alive the last few years. Not even a quick proofread.

As far as I'm concerned we are, from this point forward, Best Friends Forever!!!
If Paul O. were a more savy businessman, he would've begged Louie C.K. to do a commentary track.

I almost admire Paul O's determination to sit there and keep trying to bullshit his way through the O&A appearance. I haven't seen the movie, but I feel confident in stating that he put more effort into defending it against Louis CK than into making it.

i think my biggest problem with Paul O. after a few days of reflection, is that he is so demeaning and insulting to fans of low budget horror films and fans of art films. He thinks we are all stupid and watch any cheap shit if we are told what we are suppose to think. Its so offensive...

Well, he is selling an anti-film. I am not certain what that means, though I assume this is like 7UP being the Uncola. Paul's movie is probably uninteresting, unintelligent, unbelievably bad, and unprofessionally produced.

Paul-O is a retarded unfunny douche who couldn't make a decent film to save his life. He is a whiny little bitch who just complains and points fingers that evry problem of his is created by someone else. He should Man up, grow up and stay the F off the Radio.
