Good video editing software?

While I'd like to consider myself pretty good at a lot of things tech related, one thing I've never scratched the surface of is video editing and production.

I'm not looking for anything fancy...just something I can experiment with, as a get a feel for it, and maybe useful for creating a few things to throw up on YouTube.

Any recommendations in terms of a program?

I have this and it is pretty easy to use.

I have never tried anything else though
so it may be the worst program ever.

But it certainly fits what you are looking for.

squeeze. you can edit video and then compress it to almost any format imaginable.
