Isn't this episode reminiscent of why they got fired the first time? I don't care personally, just weird what a different place we're in ten years later or whatever. Or are we...

Anyway, I've been mildly amused by this episode and season. Care to weigh in?

Good point. But this one wasn't derogatory towards Asians.

Just everything else.

Well you've got to hand it to them, Family Guy is nothing if not relevant. Nothing like an entire first act plot revolving around a ten year old show.
Before anyone bitches, it would have been fine if it was a joke or a reference, but that entire run would have been reserved for things that are current and pertinent for satirizing.
Carry on.

Your post isn't relevant. This episode has been on like 3 times already. This is a repeat.

Sweet.

The cast of "Star Trek: The Next Generation" is reuniting for an episode of "Family Guy," a mash-up made in geek heaven that Fox will air next month. (http://www.thrfeed.com/2009/02/star-trek-next-generation-family-guy.html)

In the episode titled “Not All Dogs Go to Heaven,” the "Next Gen" crew (Patrick Stewart, Levar Burton, Gates McFadden, Michael Dorn, Wil Wheaton, Denise Crosby, Marina Sirtis, Brent Spiner and Jonathan Frakes) will provide guest voices as the Griffin family heads to the annual Quahog “Trek” convention.

"Stewie blows a fuse when he doesn’t get a chance to ask his favorite 'Star Trek: The Next Generation' cast members any questions," reads the logline. "He devises a plan, builds a transporter and beams the entire cast to his bedroom so they can spend a fun-filled day together in Quahog."

I thought this past episode was hysterical. Bonnie giving birth to a little, tiny wheelchair and the changing of Joe's diaper later was amazing.

They weren't fired for content. They were fired for lackluster ratings.

They had an episode Sunday that put all the characters into 3 Stephen King movies. The first one was Stand By Me and it was pretty funny.

The greatest line ever though was at the very end when Quagmire is walking away, he was playing the River Phoenix role. So when the narrator is giving the 'what ever happened to him' speech, he says that he died from a drug overdose outside the Viper in LA. And that now we are left with a hair-lipped reminder of what could have been and shows a picture of Joaquin. I nearly died.

Favorite scene:

During the STAND BY ME segment, the kids are standing around.... staring at the corpse and commenting that it's even more grotesque than they'd imagined.
The camera then reveals that the dead body is actually Meg.
Decomposed... surrounded by flies.

And Cleavland says in a deadpan voice: "he's ugly".

Awesome

I wonder if the shots at Meg noted here and above are a way of ripping the Simpsons for the lackluster Lisa episodes they feel obligated to have every now and then.

I mean, the general consensus I've seen about the Simpsons is that the Lisa episodes are pretty much the worst ones, and she is the least interesting major character on the show.

Nice theory!
I absolutely LOATHE the Lisa episodes. I turn 'em off immediately.
But... I find the Meg-bashing to be f'ing hilarious. Their ever growing hatred for Meg is my favorite recurring gag.
