Holy crap! What a bunch of nuts.

When I was a kid, I had plantar warts (warts on the soles of my feet). One of the options the dermatologist gave my mom was RADIATION THERAPY...somehow she was smart enough to choose the surgical approach even though it meant me getting needles stuck into the balls of my feet.

They used to do "XRay Treatments" for acne in the old days, too, as well as a bunch of other trivial stuff. One researcher estimates that a CT Scan of the abdomen alone creates a 1 in 1000 chance of a solid tumor 20-50 years later. That's a small risk for the individual, but given that there are 5,000,000 CT scans done on children every year in this country, if these guys are right it's turns out to be a significant number of tumors. So you can imagine what radiation therapy to the face for acne would do. Amazing. Well, heroin was sold as "non addictive morphine" when it first came out, too.

PS: why can't i get my youtube embeds to work? when I do it, it just makes a little strip of a viewer.
