I do. Everytime I go out to eat I finish all my food. My parents spent good money on it so I better. Even if I don't really like something I finish it. Not a fry or a grain of rice is left.

I used to eat everything put in front of me. Now I have learned some self control and stop eating if I'm full, even if there is still food on the plate.

It was survival of the fittest with my two brothers and I growing up. I have brought the same gusto to eating into my adult life. I wanted dessert and that was the only way to get it.

Fuck no, especially if it sucks. I don't care how expensive it is, either. One time I grabbed a waiter by his tie and slammed his face into my plate while screaming "I THOUGHT YOU SAID THERE WAS NO SPINACH!?!?!?!?!?!"

Fuck everybody and their shitty food.

When visiting Mom, I eat everything she gives me, mostly because she knows what I like/how I like it, but sometimes she'll throw something in that I'm not particularly fond of, but I eat it anyway cause I dont want her upset.

If my mom and her hubby, or anyone for that matter, take me out to eat at a restaurant, I feel bad if I dont clean the plate, but it's not as necessary. You can always blame the chef, or say, "it's not like YOU make it ma".

And if I'm paying, I only eat til I'm full. And as long as my date ordered something more than a salad, I'm happy. She doesnt have to finish it.

My mom was a typical aweful irish cook. It was always just food to us. My wife who is 1/2 italian where food is a religion is the complete opposite. Every holiday the meal is king the food all coming out at exactly same time and perfect temperature. Meals going on for hours.changing plates etc. My family the food was cooked and when ever it was ready consumed then hang out around the table breaking each others balls for hours. I still tell the story of the first Christmas when I arrived at my future in laws a half hour late and they had already started eating their pasta course. I literally almost turned around and left. The next year I got a speeding ticket trying to get there on time.

I was brought up to eat everything on my plate. It is one of the things that I blame for my being overweight. I have trained myself to put less food on my plate. When I go out to eat, I try to make myself divide the food on my plate in half and take the other half home for a meal tomorrow.

I eat half and take home the rest. As a kid I was expected to clean my plate, for the most part.

Just about always clean my plate. Unfortunately, I married a good cook from the South so just about everything is stuff that will eventually kill me (either fried or at least red meat or pork). She stays thin and I'm a fat mess.

where is the option for eating the stuff the wife and kids didn't finish too?

No way.I eat until I am full,or I stop sometime thereafter.I feel no pressure to empty my plate.I have a 9y/o daughter and I absolutely refuse to force her to eat anything. My parents used to put stuff on my plate that I didn't like and force me to sit there until I ate it.My kid has never been forced to eat anything but she likes most everything.Forcing a kid to eat causes problems later in life.I struggle not to over eat because of the crap my parents put me through.

Growing up as the middle child with two vicious sisters, I ate prison style. Head down, forearm blocking the plate, fast and I would always clean the plate. As an adult I stop when I'm full.

I was told that kids were starving in Japan...so eat it. Just eat it.

Whenever I'd skip eating a pizza crust, my father would tell me how his mother would have never let him do that. I just told him, it's a good thing you never had pizza when you were a kid. I'm saving my appetite for the good part.

I eat what I can, and when I'm too full, I stop.

If it's particularly good and I wisely got a poriton that wasn't too large, then I'll be doing fine.

I remember on a first date with this girl, she told me to order this rack of lamb. I didn't like the food much and honestly was way too into her to really be thinking about my plate. I eat maybe half of it, and when we're leaving the chef comes out and says "why you no like food?!??!"

You should have said, "you no see my date?"

I could care less about the food that is put in front of me. If I don't like, I don't eat it all. If I do like it and get full, there may be some left over. Those are the rules of engagement.

Food knows what it is getting into when it sits on the plate.

People know what they are getting into when they pay for me.
