Trapped InPennsylvania For First Two Weeks!

As most of you who know me know, I'll be moving to PA in a week.

Chris's job is making go on a TWO WEEK business trip the DAY AFTER we move. Literally Feb. 2nd.

I don't have my driver's license (I have a permit and can't get a license till marchish) and won't be able to go anywhere for the whole 2 weeks. There's a corner store about 10 minutes away walking but that's pretty much it. Everything else is 45 minutes away walking.
This would be okay if it was summer or even spring but 10 degree weather and walking for long periods of time don't go very well.

The buses there run only from 6am till 5:15pm. So I can't go out or come back later than that.

Emergency PA bar night??!! (Where someone kindly picks me up and can stay over as long as I already know you)
What should I do?? I already considered getting a bike, but that might be crazy dangerous with all the ice and snow.

I will however have internet and cable... so not completely horrible. It will suck to get used to a new place in a new state with new surroundings I've never lived with. I won't have my husband to share the first couple of weeks of our big move.

I recommend either some morning drinking or perhaps afternoon - but set a digital watch for the second to last bus out. Get a Casio!

Bethlehem, PA. I looked it up. By car everything is really close like 8 minutes away. But walking to the downtown area where everything is, is 1 hour. And other things closer are 45 minutes. The least walking I saw besides the one store 10 minutes away is taking a bus and then walking 20 minutes.

Pretty ridiculous. And na 45 minute walk now is really a hour anyway casue of the cold weather and snow.

Walking. All 5 or 10 minutes away by car. One store is pretty close. But it's a corner store. I'll be able to go there, though, if I run out of something like milk. So not totally bad.

Hey Leticia, I think you said you are looking for a job there, I just saw on the news that the Sands Casino is opening there and offering over 1000 different jobs. I know you said you did not want to do bar tending again, but maybe it will help ya for a while and you can concentrate on your artistic side during the days.

I'll have to figure out the busses. Everyone just keep saying there's a bus around here. The tell me where it is but they don't tell me what it is. It can be one one 2 or 3 busses that go in different directions...

Also can't take it without a bus ticket. And I have to take a bus to where I have to buy the tickets.
