I was wondering if anyone has ever fallen asleep in the movie theater before. I am the lightest sleeper in the world, i cant even fall asleep with the tv on, yet during a showing of "Attack of the Clones" i was fast asleep for most of the movie. All i remember is that when i woke up, C3PO had some awful pun....like his head was ripped off and he said "im heads and shoulders above the rest" or something equally as awful

i guess in defense of the movie i was up for 24hrs in some shitty dollar theater in Rhode Island, but still, its the only time i fell asleep in a movie theater

When I was working at a movie theater I stopped into The Emperor's New Groove after my shift one day. I was asleep in about 15 minutes. I also fell asleep in 2 Fast 2 Furious, but I was a little tipsy. Luckily I didn't pay to see either of them.

I myself haven't, but a chorus of snores was happening during Gangs Of New York back in the day. It was a Friday night. I guess people were tired from working all week.

i once was watching a bootleg copy of "Son of the mask" ( i downloaded it! i wanted to see how bad it was )...anyway, it was a bootleg where the guy was recording the screen with his video camera and he fell asleep recording this shitty movie. the camera angled itslef to the ceiling and i heard the guy recording it snore. it was funnier than anything in the actual movie

I'm too cheap/anal to fall asleep in a movie that I've paid for. I've got to make sure that I get my money's worth and that includes piece of crap children's movies that my kids drag me to. That being said, the only movie I've ever fallen asleep during is Sharkboy and Lava Girl - it was THAT fucking bad.

It wasn't a movie, but a Broadway show: Fosse. Biggest pile o' crap ever produced.

One year on Black Friday I got dragged to see whatever Harry Potter was out at the time, it sucked and I had worked a full day (I was in retail at the time) so I passed out for an hour and had to be woken up cause I was snoring

the only reason the Harry Potter books aren't considered Great American Literature is because the bitch that wrote it is British

The closest I ever came was when I saw the first Lord of the Rings.

That movie must have been 17 hours long.

It just dragged on and on and on and on...

I used to go to the movies in the afternoon with the intent of sleeping. I was suffering some severe insomnia and happened to discover that (for some reason) I had no difficulty sleeping at the movie theater. Now if I'm out and have a couple of hours downtime, I'll buy a ticket for something awful and go to sleep.

Since I worked at a theater for years, I can't tell you the number of times I fell asleep.
Either sleeping off a bender in the projection booth, or just being blown by the ticket girl.

Good times.

Talented Mr Ripley, Play It to the Bone, LOTRIII, shrek II, Star Wars III, and No Reservations. Ripley is a good movie, the others are just turds of movies.

I fell asleep sfter getting head during an early show Silence of the Lambs. The weed didn't help either. Theater was fucking empty, and being a dumbshit teenager meant that was a license to turn it into my living room.

Second movie I fell asleep on was Lost in Translation. I was on a date at the end of a 13 hour workday and I just couldn't manage it. No second date.

I dozed off a few times during Judge Dredd.

My wife went completely out during Sabrina (the remake) and had one of those falling dreams. She jumped up and yelped in the middle of the theater. Good times.

King Kong and The Lord of the Rings...Peter Jackson sure knows how to suck the life out of an audience.

I've also fallen asleep while driving onthe Garden State parkway.

I almost fell asleep last night watching the newest Superman movie (on DVR). Holy shit was it bad. I deleted it within 10 minutes of starting it. Thank god I didn't pay to see it in a theatre.
Same thing happened with Star Wars episode III the other night.

Twice.

The first time was while I was on a pass during basic training. I went to see the Adams Family because it was the only thing showing in the area I was at.

The second time was during There Will Be Blood. I went and saw it with my girlfriend and we both ended up dozing off during it.

It suffers from being only 1 quarter the length of Das Boot. That was a full night's rest!
