That's easy. Werewolves. Sunlight kills vamps so they can only fight during hours of darkness. Werewolves on the other hand can fight 24 hours a day. Werewolves only have to expose sleeping vampires to sunlight and they'll be toast.

That's why the mythologies involved count. In some werewolf stories, they can change only during a full moon and the change is not voluntary. In addition, when they changed their mental state is no better than an animals.

In some werewolf stories, such as Underworld (I believe), they can change at will.

BTW, in some stories, sunlight is not deadly to some vampires. For instance, I believe that in the original Dracula novel, Dracula could appear in daylight. He just didn't have any powers in daylight.

Actually, there are time of day has nothing to do with whether the moon is full or not. A full moon is just harder to see in the daytime.

definitely a hard battle. the warewolfs have the pure brute strength, whereas the vampires have super human powers and can only die by one method.

id love to see the wolfman rip draculas face off. but I think the fanged fuckos would win overall

According to most early mythologies the only 2 methods to kill a werewolf were with a silver tipped weapon.( 7 silver tipped rods touching it in the form of a Pentagram, dagger, bullet/ arrow, clubbing..etc.) Mistletoe or wolvesbane would ward off a Werewolf, but not kill it. Also the full moon was not the only time they could change,(that was invented for the moviesand written fiction) It was usually whenever they wanted, it was just during the Full moon that they were more wolf than man.

Vampires, on the other hand, were easier to kill. Many early European myths had them as being the spawn of the first Vampire, Judas, that said.. decapitation, silver weapons, crucifix, Holy water, and stakes made only of the tree Judas hung himself from (Alder I think) through the heart, and fire (since it purifies). Sunlight would render them powerless, not burn them alive(the latter also invented in written fiction and movies). Asian and african Myths also had Fire,religious talismans, Stakes, and decapitation as methods of dispatching Vampires..sometimes it was finding the monster's hidden heart and destroying it that killed the monster.


And to think my mom told me that my classes in Comparative Mythology were worthless.:innocent:
