View Full Version : Adam Sandler Has Never Made A Funny Film

Happy Gilmore, Billy Madison, The Waterboy, Big Daddy, and so on and so. All these film are pure shit. Each one had like one or two gags with little or no plot followed by nonsensical rambling. Try watching one of them now, they don't hold up. Adam Sandler must be a vegetarian.

Bulletproof with Damon Wayons is probably my favorite of his. When I was younger I used to think movies like Happy Gilmore and Billy Madison were HILARIOUS. Now, I realize how bad they actually are. His current movies, just wow. Zohan was abismal, Chuck and Larry was nothing but Gay jokes. I enjoyed Anger Management, but that was mainly because of Jack Nicholson.
Come to think of it, he really does look like he eats a lot of tuna fish.
Fucking weirdo.
Fuck him.

The year 2000 killed him. I enjoy the Wedding Singer and I actually think Big Daddy is good. Still find Billy Madison and Happy Gilmore hilarious but not like when I was a youth.

I never saw the humor in him or any of the SNL characters he portrayed, never "got it" with him. He seems to be a persona like Jim Carrey, you kind of know what sort of character you will get in one of his movies.

I haven't watched Billy Madison or Happy Gilmore in years, but they were probably the funniest movies I'd ever seen when they first came out. They probably don't hold up very well, but I doubt I'd consider them shit. Everything else he's done has sucked a dick.
Airheads isn't a Sandler movie. Its fucking hilarious, but Sandler plays third fiddle to Fraser and Buscemi.

Sandler is a guy who's made so many pieces of shit since his older, funnier stuff that it makes you forget about those better films.
Now the sight of him kinda gives me that "Ben Stiller" chill that just makes me wretch.

I think Big Daddy may have been the last watchable one he made.
I think Anger Management is my least favorite. The whole "It was just a joke to teach you to stand up for yourself. And the court system and airlines were in on it".
 Boo.
I think Billy Madison and Gilmore still hold up. It has the unfortunate distinction of being one of the first "Manchild" movies (in my view) that are so popular, but it's funny.

I watched Billy Madison again the other night. Its not the comedic masterpiece I thought it was when I was 13 and there are a few douchey moments I glossed over before, but on the whole its still a damn funny movie. Especially Chris Farley.

Anthony started talking about this today. He hates all Adam Sandler movies as well.
I'm starting to agree. I watched Happy Gilmore, and it was good not great. I've hated everything he has done since Big Daddy (barely watchable), so that would basically mean I am a fan of his first two movies.
That being said, there isn't a person alive that will make me believe Airheads isn't a masterpiece.

I flipped the channel last night and stumbled across Billy Madison. I'm thinking, fucking great this will kill an hour.
It just seemed so stupid. I know its incredibly stupid to begin with but maybe cuz I wasn't in a good mood it just seemed like a pile of shit.

I've enjoyed Adam Sandler movies in the past. I'm sure if I watched a few of them now I'd think they were douchey. But I'm not going to act like I didn't laugh at some of his stuff in the past just because it's "in" now to say Sandler is a yammering prick. We all knew he was even back on SNL but we were on board then.
