All art is dependent on certain conventions that we all just accept to make that art work. What conventions should film and TV adopt to make themselves better.
1: All small children should be played by midgets. The best little child actor in the world is totally shitty and distracting, we should just replace them with little midgets who can actually act and not fuck up a scene. My brother actually pointed this out while we were watching Lost.
2: No sex scenes. They are generally irrelevant and usually terrible. If I need to know two people had sex just have them lay down on the bed and fade to black, stop ruining the pace of your movie with some hammy and embarrassing fuck scene. We've all had sex, we know what it is actually like, just stop.
