View Full Version : Who's Better Kurt Warner or Brett Farve?

Kurt Warner just got his second team to a Superbowl. Brett Farve couldn't get the Jets to the playoffs. They've both won one a piece. This will be Warner's third trip to the Superbowl and Farve's been there twice. They both have been MVP's.

The sheer 'in-your-face Epo'-ness of this thread redeems you, after the 'LeBron as football' player thread from earlier.
Well done.

So what's the question Lleeder? Who's better at throwing picks or all around turnovers!? For the first I'd go Farve, the latter Warner.

Warner. Simply because he's led two different teams to Super Bowls. Bringing your own team back to one is hard enough - but different teams? The only person who comes close in the modern era to that is probably Elway, whose SB-winning Broncos teams were radically different than the Reeves-era teams.
The other thing is that Warner has shown leadership qualities that Favre seems to be lacking, especially with the backlash he's been dealing with. You never heard about these personality issues with Warner that you hear with Favre.
The final piece - Warner worked his ASS off to get where he was. Think about this. Warner has played in the AFL, the NFLE, and then the NFL and led two different teams to the Super Bowl. No other QB can claim that.

the only exception i would say is that all nfl qb's work their ass off to get where they are at, it just took warner more time and places to prove he belonged. Its not like favre came from some big school and was handed a starting job

Yes, but Warner had to work his ass off just to get into the League itself.
Francesa was talking about HOF qualifications... he said Faulk is a lock to get in, but Warner needed to get into the Super Bowl this year to lock. That I don't get... Two MVPs, one ring and two SB appearances isn't good enough to get you in?

See, I would say Warner because Favre is an overrated piece of garbage.
But that's just me.
Warner is maybe the most underrated player of this generation of football players, though. When you really get down to his numbers and accomplishments, there's no question about him being a Hall of Famer.
And he's single-handedly revived two of the WORST franchises in professional football (The Rams were a joke before 1999).
Warner. Simply because he's led two different teams to Super Bowls. Bringing your own team back to one is hard enough - but different teams?
By that logic, Craig Morton is also better than Favre. That's just crazy talk.

It's also Francesa. He was comparing Warner to fucking Plunkett.
If Warner has 2 more seasons of 3000 yards, his stats would be on par with Jim Kelly's, a first-ballot inductee.

You are just bitter that the Jets were dumb enough to trade for a retired 39-year old QB who didn't know the playbook or workout all off-season.
If he had stayed retired, this thread wouldn't exist. This might be Lleeder's worst thread ever.

As Cassel has shown this season, I'm beginning to think Brady is a product of the Belichick system rather than Brady being a gift from Football Heaven. There's no denying he's a good QB. But it would be interesting to see how Brady would react on a non-Belichick team, although that's not going to happen.
Only reason Patriots didn't make the playoffs is the Jets beating them in OT and they were fucking decimated by injuries.

I'm more bitter about saying that the Jets should have drafted Flacco. But does anybody listen to me? No. Instead, they get the old man and a shitty selection of QB's in the draft this year.
The only redeeming thing is going to be if they get Gruden. If they get Gruden, I'll feel a lot better.

If they get Gruden, they mine as well keep Favre for a year to ease the transition for a young QB.

I seriously wouldn't mind Gruden and Favre for a year to see what happens. My biggest issue with the Jets HC picks has been constantly hiring guys with no HC experience.

I don't give Warner one iota of credit for anything that he's ever accomplished. Did anyone see the on-field interview as soon as the game was over? He said it himself - he owes everything to Jesus. I guess Jesus had some cash on the Cards today and the Rams back in 2000. Now, if you want to add Jesus to your little poll then I'd vote for him.
