They went through like 2 or 3 shitty seasons, esp. when they were over in Africa every other week, but last year was much, much better. So, I had high hopes coming into this final season, but so far it hasn't been great. The Goose flashback cameo was cool, though.

Did anyone else watch the finale?

I'll admit to being a bit teary-eyed a couple of times. I really enjoyed the episode two weeks ago where they brought back Clooney and Margolies. The finale was more subdued. Other than the Gates/Sam thing and the Banfield baby story, there wasn't really anything to "wrap up." Rachel Greene was a nice touch- you knew they'd do a "life goes on" angle if they didn't just blow up the hospital, so using her worked for me.
The one negative I'd say is that since they wrote so many goodbyes this year, there wasn't enough familiar faces in that big final shot with the whole staff in it. Where was Deezer D?! A minor point, though.

It hasn't been the great show it once was, other than last year, but it kept me watching to the end.

i was, at one point, an er fan.
i really havent watched it in about 2-3 years, but i HAD to see the final episode.

i like that they didnt wrap up any storylines. it was a life goes on type of episode, which works out. i dont like cliffhangers, and we all know how we felt about the last sopranos episdoe.

somebody dropped a line near the end... something about the comradere of the er that helps keep them together. i think the final scene, with all those ambulances coming and pretty much utter chaos going on, they all knew their role and lined up like an army waiting to take on the world.

teary eyed? no. but it was one of those shows, like friends, that will always be remembered.
