I dig his style. New show starting on Comedy Central, Wednesday, February 11th, (it says 10:30p/11c, that makes no sense!)

I'll be checking it out, you should too!

Important Things with Demetri MartinImportant Things with Demetri Martin" is a stream-of-consciousness sketch and variety show from comedian Demetri Martin. Each episode focuses single topic through the prism of Demetri's unique point of view, whether it's apples or the afterlife. "I'm very excited to be at Comedy Central and looking forward to making one of the top shows of all time - ever," he says. "Also, I need to clean my apartment and thank Jon Stewart."

Voted one of the "25 Funniest People in America" by Entertainment Weekly, Martin left NYU Law School to pursue his career as a writer/comedian/artist/musician. He's toured across the U.S. and abroad, most recently in support of his first stand-up CD/DVD "These Are Jokes," which was released via Comedy Central RecordsŪ in 2006. His "Trendspotting with Demetri Martin" has been a featured segment on "The Daily Show with Jon Stewart" since December 2005. He has also performed and written for "Late Night with Conan O'Brien."

Demetri's first one-hour stand-up special "Demetri Martin. Person." premiered in January 2007. He appears in the upcoming feature films, "The Rocker" for Fox Atomic and Universal's "Kids In America." He's also writing "Will" for Dreamworks and working with James Bobin on the script for "Moon People.

One of my favorites. I'll definitely be watching.

If I ever saw an amputee being hanged, I would just yell out letters.

It also says the upcoming film The Rocker, and that bombed months ago.

Was the the one with Rainn? Well, either way I was watching a Scrubs re-run last night and they had a commercial. I just don't remember what time they said.

i caught some of his special, but he reminds me too much of the late mitch hedberg ... there's just something about him that reminds me of a trust fund carrot top

i don't know why i can't get into similiar comics ... if a band or movie copies or invokes a familiar style, i can still enjoy it ...

The stand-up part of his act is definitely in the same vain. But Mitch Hedberg was Steven Wright. I hated Mitch the first time I saw him for that reason but I got past it and now I love him. I'm sure Steven Wright was someone before him and so on.

The good part about Demetri is that he also does drawings and plays guitar and harmonica. Really versatile, really dry and absurd.

Well? Anyone watch last night.

Not as funny as I hoped but it had its moments. I think his audience work was the best and the sketches were weak. But I enjoyed it enough to give it time to find its voice.

I haven't caught all of it. Last night I saw the last 10 mins. Tonight I saw the second third of the show.

I love Demetri Martin. He's funny and very clever. I really hope his show lasts. His humor is unique.

I'm crossing my fingers but I dunno; The Carlos Mencia show has lasted so long.

It just seems idiots run CC.

Blech. His schtick doesn't really translate very well to 30 minutes.

EXACTLY!!!!!!!!!!!!

I saw one of his comedy central special and he just seemed like a hack ripping off Mitchs old bits. I've never liked him since.

Well then you must hate Mitch for ripping off Steven Wright then.

The only thing I've liked is the bit in the commercial where he says creeps love vans because they're just windowless rooms on wheels.

What say you, creeps?

It's a maybe in my book. I will give it two more watches before deciding.
