I especially like the idea of streaming music from my desktop computer to this via my wi-fi network.

I haven't seen this actual model but I can speak highly of the Creative Labs Media Players. I've had the Zen Vision:M for 3 years now and I love it.

I think they are a great alternative to an ipod and I've been eying this X-Fi for a while. Looks great. Lots of awesome features...
And the best feature of all...No iTunes necessary!

I got the 30 Gig vision M years ago, when Ipod was releasing the same thing at the same time.
I went with the creative labs, because it worked with more audio and video formats.
I loaded an Ipod for a friend of mine, and I wanted to throw it against the wall.
I think they are shite. I love my vision M...
