Looks like Universal Records is gearing up for some Motown-y goodness.

A new Stevie Wonder documentary and live concert DVD is in the works.
And, the new Motown Fanthology will be released in 09 as well. You can vote on the tracks but, let's face it... every song that went to the top o the charts will be on there.

The Funk Brothers aren't exactly "bros" anymore. After STANDING IN THE SHADOWS OF MOTOWN, some of them got greedy and splintered off into another touring act. Shame shame shame. Perhaps they'll reunite if there's another televised event.
Interestingly... it was immediately after the Motown 25 special that James Jamerson killed himself.

Hard to believe that "Motown 25" was so long ago. I watched that concert on TV with my parents and it changed my life. (well... that and the video for "Bringin' On The Heartbreak" by Def Lep)

(I just heard an unfinished mix of "PYT" by MJ in 5.1 and in advanced resolution stereo. Brilliant!)

That special was in 1983 so shouldn't the 50th have been in 2008 then?

Being the founder of Motown keeps you looking young for a 79 year old. (http://www.tmz.com/videos?autoplay=true&mediaKey=520ef413-68f5-4d19-8372-3510f3ff1b94)
