Pasta E Fagioli

Tonight my kitchen smells like my Italian Grandma's kitchen. I am making Pasta Fagioli!
Or Pasta Fazool as we used to call it. I cant believe how easy it was. I sauteed onions and garlic until translucent, then added tomato sauce, drained canelli beans, basil, salt and pepper while I pot nearby was cooking the ditalini pasta. Once I got the sauce boiling, I added the nearly cooked pasta and let it stew for 3/4's of an hour. I used two kinds of tomato sauce, stewed tomato sauce and progresso sauce that was already seasoned a little.

Anyone make this or variations or share recipes?
