boosting wi fi sinal

my apt complex has an unsecured network,sometimes the signal gets used up by people downloadin or some shit.i bought a small router thinking it would boost the wi fi signal.
what do i need to get to hook up to it so i can bring the signal in better?it has those little telephone inputs in the back and not usb ports.thx

You can find signal repeaters. Same basic idea behind the wireless router but it picks up the signal and rebroadcasts it.

Yeah, that's pretty much what your wireless card's antenna is.

You can use your router as a range extender.

Best to ask the questions prior to purchase. It can't magically give you more bandwidth from people downloading, it will simply make the wireless signal stronger

Very cool. Nice directional antenna. If you build this pay attention to the bit where he says to run the wire along the surface of the brass plate for 30 mm at 1mm height insulated before heading up into the coil.
