if anything, the events of 2001 show that religion still matters. september 11, israel/palestine, india/pakistan, and northern ireland are all about religion. as much as television has tried deemphasize religion it is apparent that, still, each religion is at war with each other. each wants to control the world for some reason or another.
and that is why im depressed; because people and the groups they consider themselves apart of do not like the world as is... wishing to better their predicament throught murder and whatnot. not right, not good.
at the same time, the group that i consider myself a part of - the united states of america - thinks that it can't trust its own citizens and i feel that my inalianable rights are breeched each and every day.
maybe i can move, to a country or a place where nothing matters - because nothing should matter. people and mankind as a whole should stop competing against each other for control of the world/others/money/gold/oil/whatever.
and people everywhere - get a life. live your life. find your soulmate. and don't f-ing worry about nothing. hating others is bad; there is not point in holding grudges.
i hope things change.

2001 was pretty good year for me, I got laid a lot, things are good with friends and family, I'm making good money, health is good, I turned 21 in dec., and I just bought a new boat. Besides the whole terror thing I say it has been one of my best years. Sometimes you have to look at the glass half full and focus on the positive not the negative. Sorry it sucked for other people :) , I've had plenty bad years, but be happy for what good things happened and the things good in your life it could be a lot worst, trust me I know.

You will never find a place were no one is trying to be #1... that simple... there will always be someone trying to get up on everyone else... but look searching for that place.. maybe try the ARTIC Circle

Wow! I agree with eggers about something!
This year sucked, and I'm not sorry to see it go. As the boys said on their last show, "Goodbye 2001! You meant nothing to me, bug-bye!"

I think 2001 was more of a somber reminder, that nothing is forever. It was a year that dished out true realities. Some would say that it was a terrible year full of tragedy, which it was.
But the tragic losses, should be used a eye opener and a soul awakener for us all. Life is short and very precious. We are all on borrowed time. Make the most of it. Spend and cherish all of life's moments, the good and bad, as they are part of our lives and make us who we are. Marvel at life's experiences, when you take a wrong turn, or make a right turn, reflect on it, and enjoy the moment for what it is, a part of your life, your unique, personal experience on this planet
Be happy that you are alive, and do your most to live your life to the fullest. Take the time to interact with others. Enrich your life with your friends and with laughter. You are the only one who has the power to make yourself happy. Take every opportunity to do so. I guarantee if you make yourself happy, you will make others happy as well.
I leave you with this thought, and remember how many times you have read it and had your mother tell you it to you. Think about how this litle statement reflects so much truth.
"Do on to others as you would have others do on to you."
Enjoy life, Play and Love hard, Touch others lives and Be Happy.
Sermon over. You all can wake up now.
Happy New Year
