I checking out some areas around me, looking up people's houses I know and such, and decide to check out one of the more upscale developments we do work in as a goof, to see if I see any of my work trucks.

I go by one house that we mow, see my truck and trailer parked at it, and see my guys....cutting the neighbors grass.

I do some research, and contact the homeowner, who informs me that my "representative" got a hold of her last spring to offer her a "special deal" if she paid in cash every week. So basically this prick has been cutting this bitches house all year with my shit and pocketing the money.

When I confronted him, I got the blank stare, the hemming and hawing, and the denials. He never outright admitted it, but I shitcanned his ass anyway.

I think you did the right thing. Here is why: What are the odds that the Google truck that takes these pictures would have captured a rare event? I suspect if this guy was doing it once, he does it a lot. The other guys on the crew must also be aware that he mows peoples lawns who do not have official accounts, and by you firing him, their leader, you set an example to these other guys. I really bet that he had several other side jobs you didn't know about. The bad thing is, if they are next door to your usual, as the new crew starts to mow the lawns, and if they pass by the ones that he had the side deals on, those people will ask why they stopped mowing them, and eventually the new crew may start cheating on you again. There is no real way to know the full magnitude of the problem. Unless you put a hidden cam on the truck....
