View Full Version : Virus (Trojan/Spyware Problem)
The other day I was on my computer and something came up saying "Run D" I didnt pay much attention to it and i just clicked the "X" button to get out of it.
After that I started getting this weird Trojan/Virus that I cannot seem to delete. Everytime I use the internet i start getting more firefox tabs relating to adds or more firefox windows altogether.
My avg picked up that something is wrong but i dont know if it deleted it or not. I downloaded spybot search and destroy which deleted a bunch of spyware but the problem keeps on happening
any idea how to delete this?

were you able to see the name of the virus detected? based on that you can find methods to remove it.
Is it a Vundo.gen virus? I had one before and it was hard to get rid of

Have you tried booting in safe mode with your network jack unplugged and running system scans with nothing loaded?

I used a combination of spybot
http://search-destroy-download.com/
and combofix http://www.myantispyware.com/2007/10/08/combofix-another-free-anti-spyware-tool/
to get rid of mine... but depending on the virus other methods might be recommended

This link has worked recently for a friend of mine:

I recently had the virtumonde bug, and after running several programs, this was the only thing that got rid of it:

I just had the same thing the other day. Run the most recent version of Spybot and then opt to run it again on startup combined with a full scan by the most recent AVG. That's what got rid of it for me.
