View Full Version : McDonald's Coffee Issue

McDonald's goes through the trouble to finally get some descent coffee, but the people they have taking the orders at the drive through barely understand English and do not seem to be able to understand the subtle differences between coffee with milk, half and half, cream, light, dark, sweet or with sweet and low or equal.
Why go though the expense of trying to pass off the coffee as being better than Starbucks or Dunkin Donuts when they cant take an order for it? It is a very good quality of coffee, but it is how it is prepared that makes all the difference. I was very frustrated this morning trying to get the Spanish girl at the drive through to get the coffee the way I wanted it. And when I did get the coffee, it was not at all what I was looking for. I wanted it with half and half and equal. I got it with a drop of skim milk it seems and loaded with sugar. WTF

Coffee is the devil's drink. Had just two glasses of it in my life - one too many.
Though, at least it's one less thing McDonald's can mess up..so I thought.

Starbucks can barely handle more than two customers at a time as well. They'll have 5 employees behind the counter pretending to mop and clean and have one employee making drinks for 12 different orders. On top of that, most people order 'girl drinks' which take forever to make. It's nearly impossible to get a goddamn unsweetened iced coffee in under 15 minutes, which should take about 15 seconds to make.

the only fast food restaurant coffee that is passable is Mocha Joe from BK.
It has a nice strong flavor and they will give you milk instead of those nasty creamers if ya ask for it.
Why do people spoil their coffee with sugar and thick creamers?
and btw, McDonalds does not have skim milk

One, I like cream in my coffee. It adds a texture and flavor that enhances the coffee, not masks it, and two, skim milk is for chics and fruits. It turns coffee this weird grey color.
See that, I just hit you with the ones and twos.

a good coffee will never look grey but get a nice golden color, even from skim milk.
I would even drink it black... sugar, splenda and sweeteners just ruin coffee

I like to put one packet of raw sugar in a large coffee. Its not too sweet, but it adds a nice finish, especially in bolder coffees.
Also, brittneypablo is my hero.

Texture, Finish? What the fuck. This is fucking coffee. Shit you drink. It is not wine when you get it from Micky D's.
Is texture and finish words you use when in dull topics like weather and slight overcast and "a bit blowy"?
Fuck. Drink your gahdam coffe and shut up.

I dont drink milk any who. Fucking Cow Puss.
I barely ever get coffee anywhere other than home and I NEVER get coffee anywhere that I can't prepare it myself. If they won't hand me a cup of black coffee and point me to the "fixin's" I ain't getting coffee there.

Assuming you're not handicap, when you use the drive-thru you deserve whatever messed up order you get. We have feet, use 'em, get outta your car and walk the 10 ft. http://www.mysmiley.net/imgs/smile/rolleye/rolleye0019.gif
And since we're sharing, I usually drink no more than one cup of coffee a day: soy milk adds enough sweetness that I can avoid the sugar.

Thanks but I'm really a softie most of the time.
My father got me in the habit of rarely using the drive-thru. He despises it for some reason. Even if we were on long trips, he'd make us get out of the car and go inside even if we weren't staying inside to eat.
However, there are times when I can definitely see making use of the drive-thru. If you're shuffling a bunch of kids around, it's probably just easier to use the drive-thru rather than having to drag them in and out.

I have to say, though, what good is a ten foot walk if you're getting a super-sized big Mac meal with a chocolate shake?

I would agree with that but have noticed a while ago that whenever i went into a dd the order and lines would be way slower than the drive through... so in the mornings it always is faster to use the drive through lane. I think they time the drive through yet don't do the same for counter orders

Mc donalds coffe was a great idea, seeing breakfast is the only tolerable meal you can get from their.
I have no clue how anyone eats their horrible burgers and chicken sandwiches......
Though every few years I do breakdown and get some nuggets and bbq sauce.

The Mc Nuggets are the best. I usually get me a 20 piece. The fries are good too, but the burgers/sandwiches are terrible. And who in the world is ordering the Fish sandwich? Bleckh.

Your father is a wise man. I hate using the Drive-thru. They usually mess up your order and stuff. So I prefer walking in and placing my order in person.

Same here. I almost always walk in and order my food to go. I never carry cash, and McDonalds has the card machines so I swipe it, not the kid who needs pictures on the register to recognize my order.
I stick with Dunkin LG black iced

My mom absolutely refuses to use the drive thru when ordering fast food. She's so afraid they'll mess up her order. Altho drive thru service is usually much faster. This really has nothing to do with the original topic.
