I have put on 7-10 lbs, since I let my guard down
I hate that my body wont lose weight once it gets used to a diet
but I give in and eat a lil more, i start gaining weight
is this a metabolism issue, or does even the skinny person gain weight from over eating during the holidays
I have to work extra hard for a month or two to make up for 6-8 days of eating bad
damn it

.I know that my body craves a lot more calories as soon as the weather gets cool in Oct. Maybe during the cold weather months your body doesn't want to lose weight but this doesn't excuse the pigging out that most of us do.

its water retention and some weight gain. to gain 10 pounds, you must consume and excess of 35,000 calories ontop of your daily requirements. not sure what your daily requirement is, but id guess around 2500 if your working out. the weight gain is due to higher sodium in the foods you have just been eating and not used to cause of the new healthy diet. so you will start to retain water from the foods. a week after your xmas oinkfest you will notice the weigh has gone back down and you may have only gain 2-3lbs overall. given you go back to healthy eating and exercise.

i don't know, that 35k sounds aboot right.

well one pound of fat is roughly equal to 3500 calories
and if he said he has gained a max of 10 pounds I used that for my fancy calculation of
10 X 3500 = 35,000

I try to stay under 2000 calories
now I am eating in the 3000-4000 Range
Last Night was terrible, 4 to 5 Sushi Rolls, 2 Nice sized pieces of 3ft hero, alot Spinach Dip, some wings and lots of sugar desserts
add about 12 Capt and Cokes
The only good thing is that the Hangover is moderate
Starting Monday , I am going back on Stealth mode ( 2000 calories and less, no sugar snacks), I havent played Basketball in 2 weeks, this also hurts. I am back to my league on Sunday
Why must I over try not to gain weight
my metabolism is the equivalent to the Kansas City Royals

When you say "2 nice sized pieces" do mean about 18 inches each?
And how weak are your capt. and cokes?
Next year make them stronger and then you can puke all that garbage up.
Just trying to be helpful. :king:

the pieces were very small, lots of people, 3 ft hero
They were cap and diet and I make em really strong, we were playing late night three man I was drinking cap and cokes instead of beer
for some reason I dont puke anymore, even though last nite warranted it

12 of those would definitely make me puke.
Or lead me to some crazy night involving whores, drugs, and robbery.

Don't overeat during the holidays. Problem solved. It's not rocket science, don't take in more calories than you are burning off.

You have power over food. You have to change your relationship with it. I eat sugar, I have good chocolate in the house all the time. But I control how much I put into me. Were your parents the kind that insisted that you clean your plate? A lot of our food issues stem from childhood. Take smaller portions to begin with (use smaller dishes it really helps), eat slowly and truly enjoy each bite. Then decide if you want seconds. Teach the food who is boss.

Nah, when I siad robbery I meant being robbed or ripped off.
It's not as fun as it sounds.

This is Hippo we are talking about and that would require self-control.

well, captain morgan has 70 cal / oz... an average tall mix drink probably has 3 oz in it
even with diet coke you pretty much blew your daily intake on rum alone

you should wear snug fitting pants when you're gonna eat out or when there's a possibilty of overeating...guess you could have used that advice earlier.

The Holidays will be the death of me
Wife just made Cheese Steaks wife had to add an olive oil and garlic butter glaze to the bread
isnt a Cheese Steak unhealthy enough with regular Italian Bread

she is the main recipient of my life insurance
and she eats so much smaller portions
seriously , during the year, she does cook healthier (turkey meatloaf, baked seafood dishes and grilled chicken)
P.S: Hors Doeurves (She has a tradition with her family)
Cocktail Weenies, Scallops n Bacon, mini egg rolls, shit like that
I already took a Nexium in preparation
for some reason I am in sabotage mode for the winter holidays

Get back on that wagon Hippo. :king:
I know it can be a struggle.
I've gone through a couple of fat stages and was on the receiving end of the chubby jokes, mostly by my ex and brother.. they are both fat now and I'm not. http://www.freesmileys.org/smileys/smiley-laughing015.gif
I was going to start a thread about how much weight everyone gained during the holidays. I know this probably isn't healthy but I eat very little the month before Thanksgiving. I lost like 10-15lbs during that time, but now ive gained 3-4lbs from all the rich foods and desserts.

My metabolism is amazing. I didn't workout for almost 2 weeks, and I was able to keep my weight steady even with all of the extra food. And then just a couple days back to exercising and I'm down to a lower weight than ever.
The metabolism is key. Get it working hard, and it'll do a lot of the work for you.

hate to break it to you, but things change when you get older and the metabolism is one of the things that just does not work the way it did in it's teens and twenties... that's why you gotta work out extra or start changing your diet.

this is true, I have been see sawing my weight up until 2 years ago
adding 3-5 days of full court basketball has helped, dieting alone dont work anymore
now I will work off my winter weight and lose 15-30 lbs each spring summer
I figure by 2047 Ill be skinny ( all kidding aside I hope to be under 200 lbs this year)
