What kind of coffee do you buy for your home? Or, do you always go to Starbucks. I can go back and forth between more expensive and cheaper coffees. Usually the good coffee I buy is Peet's from Berkeley, CA. I can get in off-the-shelf here. Sometimes I'll go to the local coffee shop and pick-up a lb. of Kona beans. The cheaper coffee I always go with is Folgers red label. That is what I'm drinking right now.

I don't need you to tell me how fucking good my coffee is, okay? I'm the one who buys it, I know how good it is. When Bonnie goes shopping, she buys shit. Me, I buy the gourmet expensive stuff because when I drink it, I want to taste it. But you know what's on my mind right now? It ain't the coffee in my kitchen, it's the dead nigger in my garage.

You got any coffee? Yea coffee. You don't drink coffee? How bout instant coffee? You don't have any instant coffee? Who doesn't have instant coffee? You buy a jar of Folgers crystals, you put it in the cupboard, you forget about it. Then later on when you need it it's there, it lasts forever. It's freeze dried. Freeze dried crystals.

I love coffee, and prefer darker roasts. I'll pick up various gourmet brands from time to time, but my 'house' brand is Chock Full O' Nuts New York Roast. It's the only readily available brand I've found that doesn't taste like colored water.

I happen to know DiabloSammich loves cheap coffee, though.

To each his own, I suppose.

I have both.

I get the store brand medium-dark coffee for everyday use and unground good (shit, I did not write the name on the label) coffee from the upidy Central Market for my weekend coffee.

Chock full O' nuts Colombian Roast with 4 oz of Chicory per pound. Smooths out the flavor of the coffee and extends the life of your coffee (quantity-wise).

I don't have any instant coffee because it tastes like crap. But I would drink the hell out of it if there was no other coffee. Satcam has a point, it is freeze-dried, it lasts forever. Just put it in the cupboard and leave it for those special occasions.

I love coffee, but I am no coffee snob...
I have to say I still love coffee better at home in Germany... I am not sure if it is just the water or more likely the way it's ground and sealed...

Starbucks coffee just never turns out right at home, ground or beans, both just get a bitter weird taste.
I recently discovered that ikea of all places had coffee and it's sealed and ground the same way it used to in Germany... it's between 3 and 4 bucks a pound depending on the kind and it absolutely tastes awesome. beats DD, Starbucks and wawa

Always whole bean.

I like a nice Sumatra. Brand doesn't really matter.

I haven't bothered to find a decent coffee shop since I moved so I have been trying store-bought Starbucks, Dunkin Donuts, etc. and haven't really been impressed with anything.

I am switching back to folgers ground coffee until I find a place to get good beans. Fuck it.

I was wrong, I buy 12 oz bags for $3.69 I think. So it's about $5/lb.

I like the expensive shit, but since I'm on a budget I use Folgers. I make it half-decaf, half-regular and add some cinnamon to the grounds. It does the job.

I hit mine with cinnamon, allspice, and nutmeg. Depending on the day, I may Irish it up a bit.

Been a coffee snob for a long time now. Expensive only w/ a press... beans and use my burr grinder. Real pain in the ass.

Then my chick's making coffee recently (DD - not top notch but not bad if you load it up a little) and I say sure I'll have some. Now I'm hooked on just DD coffee which you can get in a giant resealable bag - already ground. And using the coffee maker too.

I will keep the grinder and press and get a real good bag every once in awhile though ... it's worth it sometimes to go to a good shop and pick up a $20 /lb. bag and enjoy it.

Here in Phoenix there is a nice little shop on central called the Lux that has some nice beans you can buy. Usually get those, not too expensive but more than the cheap shit. We also get Peets coffee here, good stuff, I enjoy Maj Dickinsons Blend.

I'll drink ANY coffee, but I love some fucking Starbucks.
There aren't really any DD around me, but I heard so much about there coffee, I bought some at the store. It was decent, but it's no Starbucks (thinking maybe I need to go to the location).

Right now, rocking the Starbucks Christmas Blend at home. It's so good, I may buy enough for the whole year.

Folgers is absolutely the WORST coffee I've ever had.

I don't drink coffee much anymore, but when I do, I get something mid-range. Preferable Colombian. Every once in a while I'll get something expensive, but only when I'm feeling fancy.

This is my guess: hot water. You're pouring 212F in there instead of Mr. Coffee temp water. It blasts the shit out of the grounds.

When I worked at Harbucks.. we used to sample using only the press b/c "that's the truest flavor of the coffee" they didn't go into why but the above is my guess.
