Where can I get sausage casings? I did not see them in the supermarket. Where are they usually?

when my grandparents used to make sausages they just used what they had from the pig or cow that was slaughtered for it

Maybe a local butcher

That is the first place I would try.

$22.50 for 50 casings? At those prices, I've seriously gotta get into the eBay business.

Yeah but you can use them as condoms at the renaissance faire so you have that...

Even though they are rinsed, watch out for the bung casing, it is the closest part to the ass you can get and they stink if not kept refrigerated.

Pathmarks in the crappy neighborhoods will have them, usually next to the tripe and the pork neckbones. The ones I have seen are sold in small square white boxes, and come to think of it, they might have been frozen. Be sure to check the cheap meat frozen section too. The container is about the same size as the ones they sell chicken livers in.

They should not be frozen. Many types of casings are salt cured and will last forever when kept in the frig.
