So I just came into a crock pot sized deep fryer/steamer combo. Im about to do beer battered vegetables/pickles (once pickled no longer a vegetable in my book). Anyone else have one of these fantastic cholesterol makers? What do you make?

I cut up some potatoes into cubes...deep fry and then throw some grated cheddar cheese on top...sounds simple put it's really good. if you change the oil after the pickles you can make some dounuts...also really good in a deep fryer...but not good in post pickle oil. Snickers covered in some batter and deep fried...also awesome...as are many other candy bars...oreos also work. You will deep fry everything under the sun when you first get one of those then you will get pissed about what a pain in the ass it is to change the oil...at least I did...then I shelved it...with the crock pot...the bagel/egg sandwich machine...toaster oven..my kitchen is the land of misfit appliances. :happy:

I love my fry daddy. Home made fried chicken wings with my doctored up franks red hot rule. I could fry just about anything and eat it. I love to take fresh oil and fry up the popin fresh biscut dough and cover it in powdered sugar. I have also used it to fry my own canoli shells and fill them with my own canoli cream. The possabilaties are endless for a fatguy like me.

Deep Fryers are the jam.
When I got one, I used it for like, 3 weeks solid. Haven't touched it in months, but it was fun figuring out delicious shit to make. Country Fried Steak is fantastic, but not as good as mozzerella sticks.
Beat eggs and milk, and seperately mix breadcrumbs, salt and Parmesan cheese. Get some string cheese, and dip it in the egg/milk mixture, roll it in the breadcrumb mix, and deep fry for a couple of minutes (Never checked time, just check occasionally until golden brown).
So fucking good, man.


EDIT: You'll want to cut the string cheese into at least halves, if not smaller.

Dude, fry everything.
Frozen White Castle sliders, cookie dough, candy bars.
Limitless opportunities with these things. It's fun as shit. Get stoned (just a suggestion) and just throw things in the deep fry, and see how it tastes.

Fry some pizza dough, cover it in butter and sprinkle it with cinnamon sugar. It's basically like an Elephant Ear that you get at carnivals. I also knew a guy who would fry raw elbow macaroni and sprinkle it with cinnamon sugar. It made for a nice crunchy snack, but I've never been able to get it right the few times I tried it.

I've gotta get one of these things. When i was a kid my neighbor had a fryer and we made fried potatoes and sweet potato chips. I'd also like to fry a chicken-fried steak and chicken wings. Fried clams, whatever.
