That's not burnt. It's thin and crispy.

And it should only be accompanied by this wonderful beverage:

Connecticut Pizza > New Jersey Pizza

I'll one up that phrase and give it to Jersey Shore pizza. Giant slices, freshly made, tastes great.

Also have to admit to being biased here, as I only had NY style pizza. But I notice ANY pizza place outside of the metro NY area is terrible. Same goes for chinese food (although San Fran had good Chinese places). Nice thin crust, lots of cheese and sauce. Can not top it my friends.

Can the "it's not pizza" crap. It's got a pizza crust topped with cheese and tomatos/tomato sauce. It's a fucking pizza.

That said, I picked NYC-style. Deep dish is delicious, but it's too much to eat on a regular basis. Chicago also has two styles: deep dish AND thin crust, which is thinner and cripser than NYC-style.

I like when the crust is so thin you can barely fold it without it cracking.
But it has to be made like a regular brick oven pizza, not that matzo ball type crust some places try to pass as "thin crust".

I like Chicago-Style too but i rarely enjoy anything in-between.

a restaurant in my neighborhood that's been there for about 20 years recently updated their menu, which now includes 'homemade pizza'. i ordered it, and the 'crust' was a flour tortilla. pretty sad. though i ordered it with bacon and pepperoni as the toppings, so it was still enjoyable.

True, but in my dining of Houston, it is one of the closer places. There is a place in Clear Lake (name escapes me) that is the closest to NY style pizza that I have had. As for Chicago style pizza, I have not found a place here in the Houston area that can replicate it. Dallas was the closest place and do not take it home because it is soggy and just plain sucks the next morning with a hangover.

well, if you follow George Carlin's thinking (i think it's Carlin, maybe it was someone else), any restaurant that offers 'homemade' food is bullsh!t. it's not made in someone's home, it's made in a restaurant kitchen!

New York Style, of course. And anytime I've heard someone outside of NY brag about their pizza, they always say "People say they truck in their water from NY and that's why it tastes so good". And anything from Midtown isn't NY pizza, you have to go to the outerboroughs for the good stuff.

Worst slice I've ever had was in Santa Monica on the boardwalk for 99 cents.
