Usually with a loaf of bread I will avoid eating the ends of the bread up until there is almost nothing lefy. But its never the very last part I eat.
Does anyone else have an unusual ritual they do with the ends of bread?

Ends are my favorite part. I usually cut the end in equal halves, and I get a half and my husband gets the other half. This only applies to real bread, I don't eat the end's of things like wonder bread. And I only eat homemade bread now, so it's bread-end heaven over here.

me & my mom used to fight over the ends of cornbread. not like muffin cornbread, but cornbread that's sort of like rye bread only way way better. when it's fresh from the bakery the first person to the bag wins.

yeah this kid is great, she double checks my order everytime; she knows I don't like tomatoes and she will make the guy re-make my salad if there are any in it.

I was always told that to get the end piece of a loaf of bread at a dinner was bad luck. I forgot why.

My favorite are wheat, rye, or pumpernickel ends. I toast them and smother them in butter. Sometimes blackberry jam, too. (I don't want to hear any bitching about jam, Gvac!)

Ends rock for eating but also make nice crutons. Shit, that's what I need to make, they are no fat and great for a snack.
