Does this drive anyone else crazy?
now on cable networks, when they are showing old sitcoms in a row, they will split screen the beginning of the next episode with the end credits of the previous episode. It makes me unspeakably angry. In an age where everyone is obsessed with HDTVs and getting the highest quality picture, how can we tolerate this?
And while i'm at it, "The Fresh Prince of Bel Air" was on this morning and they didnt play the theme song anymore...its like just some lyric-less music. Thats the only reason to watch the show is the theme song!

they do it with movies, too. I guess it's better than shrinking them to 1/10th the size and running them by at 800 miles an hour.

It's done to get an extra :30 or two :15 spots in. Cha-ching. It'll be the norm from now on.

What an over obsessive mom. He got in one fight and she made him move to Bel-Air. I'm glad the don't play the theme song anymore. Hey I know we're a family and everything but I'm scared so you have to move.

yeah i saw the same episode! I never watch Fresh Prince but i left it on, and the episode before that had Will trying to date Pam Griers daughter and then he ends up fucking Pam Grier..it kinda gave me a hard-on
but besides that, you think they would leave a little bit of the lyrics, they couldve just started it from "if anything i'd say this cab is rare..." and i wouldve been happy, but they didnt have anything
i wonder if they couldn't get the proper rights or something

Why was the cab part of the story so important that it takes up a whole verse of the song? We don't even see that stupid cab driver again. Was he at least in the pilot episode trying to get extra cab fair from Uncle Phil?

I haven't noticed them starting another show while doing this, just showing the split-screen with commercials.

They do the split screen with all shows now. Its like hey I want to see who played the guest role or who the director was.

if you watch a movie and they are playing the same movie right after is when I notice it the most. They were doing it with A Christmas Story for the 24 hours.

That's it exactly. Why show the credits at all if they are too small to read and go by to fast.

If I went to see Will Smith in concert, I'd hold up huge sign that said "PLAY PRINCE OF BELAIR THEME SONG". Then another sign that said "I"M WITH CARLTON". First I'd wanna hear that, then Wild, wild west, then Men In Black.

Ahem.
that was the answer to the splitscreen thing (which i understand). But it doesnt answer why there is no lyrics whatsoever in the "Fresh Prince" theme cuz theres still showing 45seconds of theme song footage but no lyrics

I put my walkman on and said I might aswell kick it
First class, yo this is bad,
Drinking orange juice out of a champagne glass
Is this what the people of bel-air livin like,
Hmm this might be alright!
