All the reviews I read said they added very little new from the DS and GC versions, which kind of sucks because my daughter has been playing the other versions and she was excited about the Wii one.

My little guy is dying to get this. He's in the other room right now playing the GC version.
Santa brought him Kirby and he wants it exchanged.
We'll make the switch this weekend.

Its just a relaxing role playing game. You just roll thru town trying to make some money, make a nice house for yourself & talk to your neighbors. Sorry there is no guns, fighting or killing of anyone, maybe thats what it is missing for the guys.

Missouri police warn adults about Nintendo game
Detectives target Animal Crossing as potential haven for predators.
By Ben Silverman
Most consumers are concerned with what games their children play. Andy Anderson of the Mid-Missouri Internet Crimes Task Force, however, has turned the tables by singling out one game that adults shouldn't play, either.
In a story by Missouri ABC affiliate KMIZ, Anderson warns parents to avoid the kid-friendly city-simulation game Animal Crossing: City Folk for the Nintendo Wii, claiming its online play offers an easy way for sexual predators and pedophiles to target their kids.
"There is no reason an adult should have this game," he said, going on to state that adults who play games like Animal Crossing are likely doing it for "the wrong reasons."
Animal Crossing City Folk
Video game pundits, however, have strongly criticized Anderson's assertion as fear-mongering and misunderstanding both the gamer community and the technical limitations of the Wii. Unlike personal computers or even competing game consoles, the Wii does not allow random users to contact one another online.
Tom Chick of popular gaming blog Fidgit puts it succinctly.
"Like other folks who issue such warnings, Mr. Anderson is entirely clueless about how the Nintendo Wii works on the internet, where kids can only interact with the friends with whom they've exchanged codes," he writes.
Gaming enthusiast site Crispygamer took matters a step further by contacting KMIZ News Director Curtis Varns, who fears "the intent has been lost because of the comments we allowed into the story." Varns also stresses that the point of the story "was not intended to be an indictment of the game or a smear piece on any form of interactive entertainment," but rather "to make parents aware so they could decide whether or not they needed to keep a watchful eye on their kids’ activities."
Often recommended for kids, Animal Crossing: City Folk is rated E for Everyone by the ESRB.

Ugh. It's always great when people get outraged by things they don't understand.

I have the GC version and liked it. I have it on my list of games to pick up. I still have my Wii in its box tho. I need to hook that up sometime.

So I finally got a chance to play after shelving it for a little while. Damn kids and dog. Who wants to come visit? I have Oranges. Of course I'm at work now and it's Lost night so chances of me doing some fishing are slim to none.

If You Could Bone One Animal Crossing Character, Who Would it be?
Gross question, right? Or perhaps just...stupid? Perhaps, but this is video games and this is the internet, meaning that more than one person has thought about having sex with an Animal Crossing character, and those people have got together.
Auntie Pixelante has combed the depths of a certain niche porn mecca, found everything there is to find about Nintendo's casual role-playing adventure (mostly based on which characters had "images" posted of them), and turned the data into handy little charts. Which makes it science. And science can't be weird.
When it comes to individual characters, by far the most popular was Sable, one of the Able sisters, the town's seamstresses. Interestingly, Sable is the one who all but ignores the player for days, and only begins to get chatty once you've been around for a while and she feels comfortable enough to open up to you.
Second most popular, and this one is no surprise, is Tom Nook. Why? Because some people like it rough, and there is no greater bastard in video gaming than Tom Nook.
Aside from the "regular" characters, the ones who are in everybody's village, the most popular of the randomly rotating cast are the ones who turned up in the Animal Crossing movie. Them and cats. Animal Crossing pervs love cats.
the link to the actual site with the furry action can be found on the kotaku page listed below. as one of the kotaku posters said, "WARNING: Unspeakable horrors await ye who click this link... Unspeakable sexy horrors..."
