Here it is X-Mas Eve and I'm wrapping my gifts. One thing I always do is play the albums I grew up with.
Now I'm 39, so It's mostly the stuff my parents had playin' back in the 70's.
The faves are the Andy Williams Christmas albums. Great festive stuff! Get's me right in the Spirit!
Another great one is from the 60's instumental bands The Ventures and Herb Alpert.
It's like I'm 5 again!
Now for the most part, I don't know much of their regular music, but for me, it would not be the Holidays without these timeless classics!
What old school Christmas albums do you love to this day?

I have too many to recall, but the two that come to mind are 'A Christmas Gift for You from Phil Spector', and 'Pretty Paper' by Willie Nelson.

The Ray Coniff Singers.
I'm guessing, late 50's... 60's maybe. Awesome on the turntable.

Merry Christmas baby scrooge. Why, for hating Ray Coniff? He bastardized great old songs!

We always listened to a Tony Bennett Christmas album. It's a pretty good listen.
And for me, it isn't Christmas until I hear the dulcet tones of one Johnny Mathis.

I thought I was the only one that does this. For me, it's Elvis Sings the Wonderful World of Christmas. My mom used to have it on 8-track when I was a kid.
For the past two days, I have heard Springsteen's "Santa Claus Is Coming to Town" and Paul McCartney's horribly dated "Simply Having a Wonderful Christmas Time" more times than I care to remember. I never, ever hear this song on the radio: one of my favorite Christmas songs:

Oh yeah!
That's a great one from Andy!
Last year I picked up 2 of his Christmas albums from the 60's remastered. They sound great in Stereo. We had the mono LP's

its not so much a album, but just one song that use to jolt me into the Christmas spirit as a child....I just loved how it sounded and still do to this day. It just had that sound that put this warm feeling over me that I could never shake but didn't want to either.....
Seasons by the Zombies.
I remember being young, playing at the family Christmas Eve party at my Grandparents house and hearing that song play from my Mom's suped-up 1989 Ford Mustang. Its one of those memories that make me LONG for the days of my youth and how I loathe the future...since theres nothing I can do about it, maybe theres something I can do for my daughter that will give her the same feeling and happiness moments like this brought me as a child.
