Anyone here subscribe to the Set Point theory for body weight?

I have been roughly the same weight since probably junior year of high school, about 175. Fit coming out of high school, a little chunky through some of college, back to in shape in mid 20's, about evened out now. But my actual weight only fluctuates by 5 pounds or so, though visually you would see two different people. I know that the ration of muscle vs. fat weight plays in, but even when I would stop exercising all together and eat like shite, I just don't go up much on the scale (though I may look like a puff pastry).

Just wondering if anyone else is similar or if you have really wide weight fluctuations.

I've added about 50lbs of muscle since graduating high school in '89. The vast majority of this I think is just plain old genetics since i never did a weight lifting routine to put on this much weight. I do keep active and my job keeps me moving. I will put on weight quick if I eat crap and don't exercise.
