I'm pretty sure this is a new feature because I've never noticed it before. From the dashboard, when you have a game in the system and it shows "Press A to play," it now also shows "Press Y for game details." Press Y and you have the option to download the whole game to your hard drive. I just did this with Mirrors Edge because I rented it and ended up having to work. Is this new or am I just retarded?

Yeah but you still need the disk in the drive to play. It's just to speed up loading time.

FUCK. It's confirmed. I'm retarded. At least I haven't returned the game yet.

We loaded most of our games to the HD with the new OS and within 3 days got the ol' red ring of death and had to send our XBOX back. Our other XBOX that we did NOT install any games on still works fine. Could be coincidence, but I have seen posts on some boards that say the same thing.

Thanks for the heads up. I've already had to send mine in twice.

I'd say it's a total coincidence, I got the RROD 10 months after getting my 2nd 360. The RROD's people are getting after this update to the OS would have happened even if people didn't download game to their hard drives. In the long run having your games running from the hard drive will extend the life of the system, once there are more systems with the Jasper chip in them you'll see less RROD's.
