I tried really hard to find a Rickles thread, cause I know I've participated in one, but I couldn't find one, so I just wanted to say, I just watched a year old replay of a Daily Show with him as a guest, that I have seen before, and I literally almost vomited with laughter. Pryor and Carlin are dead, and there are few other comedians living who ilicit that response from me, and for god sake at his age to prompt that, he must be the funniest comedian living. At least old school comedian. Post your Rickles's love here.

I didn't know anything about Don Rickles until I saw Mr. Warmth. Definitely check that one out if you haven't seen it.

I agree 100%. I knew nothing about him except my dad loved him. He is fucking amazing in that special.

You know, all the hack "shock posters" on this site and another site I will not name (*cough* Wackbag *cough*) need to watch some Rickles and see how he does racial/ethnic humor. In an odd way, the way that he rips someone apart based on their ethnicity, race, religion, or whatever actually ends up kind of endearing both him and the person he's "attacking" to each other, and to the rest of the audience. It's like he pulls all this out so we can laugh at it, and think "Yeah, it's kind of true, I guess, but it's not. It's just funny." It gets all this stuff we think of in poisonous, vicious terms in our heads in the open, and exposes it for ridicule. And we all feel better afterwards. Even those drunk Irishmen, terribly driving Asians, and, of course, the cheap-ass Jews.
A certain co-host of a certain show needs to learn this lesson as well.

Rickles is always great. Mr. Warmth reminds us how he's still one of the greatest entertainers of all time. He was great in Kelly's Heros and I remember that he played Max's cousin on some old Get Smart episodes.

dont forget bald eagle "ftroop" + big drag "bikini beach" certainly not part of the act..... but wldnt of been the same w/o him
I have always loved Rickles and finally got to see him live at the Townhall Theater a couple of months ago. I wasn't expecting much going into the show as he is 82 now, but he sang, danced and gave one of the funniest live performances I've ever seen. I was sitting next to Jerry Seinfeld and Chris Rock and to see those two guys absolutely losing their shit laughing throughout the entire show was surreal.

I saw him interviewed live by Regis Philman at the 92nd St. Y here in NYC. I was the one Irish guy there, 30 years younger than the surrounding elderly Jewish.
I never laughed so hard in my life.

When I was in the Army I went to see Rickles in at Caesar's in Tahoe. Denise Willams (Let's Hear it For The Boy) opened for him, then there was a little intermission with the house lights up.
Then the room goes dark and his entrance music starts playing. You know, the trumpets, the whole thing, and a spotlight shines right on my face and a hand clamps on my shoulder.
I look up and there's Rickles, grabbing my shoulder and waving to the crowd with his other hand, smiling the whole time. He looks down at me and says "Hiya, Kid" and walks up on stage.

I saw Rickles live in Vegas years ago, and it was truly one of the funniest shows I've ever seen. The man can work a room. I highly recommend seeing him if you can.
The next night, we saw Buddy Hackett, another comedic genius. You can't beat that for back-to-back comedy.

He's looked the same age for about 50 years now.
That's pretty creepy.
