Being a sleeves supporter from day 1 makes me very proud
to see something that i love acutally morph into something other people love really makes me happy
now if we can just get ron and fez of the launching pad....

string theory is fucking meaningless

its just broad conjecture by a bunch of suedo scientists, with no relevant real world applications or even testing capicities
its bullshit!

im angry because i spent a lot of time trying to figure out what the fuck they were talking about, thinking it was real science and it turns out a physics grad student just liked smoking pot and had his paper due with nothing to write on it

Back Door Slam.

I saw them in the back of a bar with like 7 other people in 2007. Then I saw them again in 2008 and they basically sold out the Bowery Ballroom.

But there was a lot of anticipation for Wilco. The breakup of Uncle Tupelo was a shock to thousands of fans who had traveled throughout the Midwest to catch multiple shows. We all knew Farrar's followup band was going to be great, but it was unclear what Tweedy was going to do as the hardcore UT fans all believed that Farrar was the better songwriter. Tweedy did have the advantage of initially taking with him most of UT's touring lineup, along with Bottle Rockets leader Brian Henneman on the first album.

Of course, nobody predicted the musical twists that would come in the future.

True to that. I hadn't seen UT but was very familiar with their work so I was naturally inclined to see tweedy in his new digs. It was pretty amazing. However, being from buffalo, I would never have even made it out that way to see them unless I had been going to chicago for another reason as well. In 95 I was visiting a friend and we had the chance to see wilco and did.

And you probably thought that Netscape was going to be bigger than AOL and be able to beat out MS internet explorer.

Also the band Say Anything. I was into them before you could find their recordings on the east coast.

I saw my buddies band open for Faith No More in '87 in a small club. They were fuckin' awesome. Faith No More was already starting to do well on college radio with the single "We Care A Lot". Five years later, with a different lead singer, Mike Patton, they were opening for Metallica and Guns N' Roses.

ESD's favorite, Guns and Roses.

Saw them on one of their first NYC dates at the Felt Forum (general admission). Axl still had the teased out red hair and braces...he looked skeeered!

A few years later, I saw them with Aerosmith and Deep Purple at Giants Stadium. I can find myself in the paradise city video (filmed that day).

Saw AFI play in someone's basement in Huron, SD in 1996. There were 8 of us there, then we went and drank beer and replaced their alternator in their shitty van. They were signed to Nitro Records in 1997 and the rest was history.

They used to be hardcore.

They are absolute dogshit now. It's real cringe inducing when you hear a kid say "Days Of the Pheonix" is a great song.

"Answer That and Stay Fashionable" was real fucking great. I still crank the volume for Cereal Wars and Rizzo in the Box.
