Today I put on my Doc Martens 1461 oxfords that I have had for at least 15 years. I wear them only perodically. These are from England. I dont see people wearing them as much as they did in the 90's, so I guess they are a little old school. Mine have a nice warn patina to them and a few scuffs that just adds character to them.
They are a little heavy, but I gotta say they feel awesome and slip right on and I walked all freaking day in them. Anyone have a vintage pair of Doc Martens? Wether boots or shoes.

I've got shoes like yours in brown, and a pair of black boots. I still wear them. I've had them since college--about 10 years, and they're still rockin! Best money I ever spent.

I remember when Doc Martin was bought by the company that owns the Gap (gee gee gee) and all the punks were so pissed and the quality fell well off. I always wore chucks instead of docs. The high ass quality punk boots are now all made for the gay skinhead fetish market.

I wanted a pair of Docs in the WORST way when I was in high school, but they were so expensive that I couldn't justify spending the money.
We even went to the Doc Martens store in Covent Garden when my choral groups did our performance tour in England in 1995. They had these really pretty ones with a butterfly print on them that I almost bought, but I hadn't brought enough money with me to buy them.

And they're oh so quiet on the play ground.

I got a pair of the new ones made in... I don't know, some place that's not England. They look like shit now, not sure if it's the quality of the boot or that I've worn them almost every day since January. I'll keep wearing 'em till I get holes in the bottom.

I thought I was so punk rock when I lost a Doc Marten crowdsurfing at a Dropkick Murphy's show in D.C...
Those were a big deal in the late 90's, just like JNCO jeans and wallet chains, before everybody started saying Hot Topic was owned by GAP and Chuck Taylor's was bought by Nike.

The link caught my attention. I went to the website and looked at the show and they look like something I could wear to work http://www.dmusastore.com/images/product/medium/2476_1_.jpg.
Does anyone wear them to work (as opposed to when they are crowd surfing)

I remember new Docs were the toughest shoes to break in. I used to joke with my friends that you had to break their spirit before they broke yours.
I've had 3 pairs of Doc shoes and 3 pairs of Doc boots. I remember this one pair of wing-tipped shoes I had. They were SO cool looking but they nearly crippled me!

Those Doc Marten boots are ugly as hell.
For work boots, I've always been partial to Red Wing...
