Onions are fantastic. I use them for every base of a pasta sauce. I like getting both fried and raw onions on sammiches somethimes. Nothing like red onion on burgers. Onion rings are the best. nom nom nom.

I have a chopper that dices really quickly and I'll make a big ziplock bag of vidalia onion and freeze it and add it to everything for a week.

My favorite vidalia onion recipe:

Vidalia onion triangles...

Take white bread, add a slice of vidalia onion, spread a little mayonaise on it and add a slice of swiss cheese to the top. Continue until you have a whole tray or two of these, bake in the oven until the cheese melts and then cut into triangles and serve as a great appetizer. Everyone loves these at my mother's parties.

Yeah the salad onions are unbearable. I don't like them cooked either, but I completely appreciate that they enhance flavor. If they're cooked with a steak, that steak absolutely tastes better, just don't ask me to eat the onions. I can almost bear them if they're chopped small on a burger or something. However, any time I'm outside of the Northeast, those animals throw big stinky onion bulbs in rice or put a giant onion slice on a cheeseburger. Have you ever tried picking onion bulbs out of rice or melted cheese? It'll ruin your day!

on long island, on the border of queens, my house has wild onions, frogs, toads, lizards. they just are out in the yard constantly but ive never seen them anywhere else in the neighborhood or anywhere else locally. so thats wierd
