I hate myself, I have a girl that I work with who is a sweetheart, has a 2 year old kid, and a live in father who is a dickhead. We get along great and all we talk about is how we should be hangin together and how much we like each other, which is difficult b/c of the pop.... So what do I do, meet some other chick at the Doctor and start hitting on her,not even on purpose, even though I like the chick I work with a lot. What is wrong with me??? Why am I such a flirt???? What do I do???

Matt, here is some serious advice from a single pop. In my situation, she really wanted to get married, but I didn't. I hung around for 2 years, never wanting to stay with her, but telling her I was thinking about it to buy more time. I left when the time was right, and I think my 7 year old is better off because of it.

My best guess is that she keeps him around because she feels it's best for the kid. The fact that he didn't get married to her right away, in my opinion, means he never will. Maybe he's just sticking around so she won't take him to court. Every situation is different, but I feel my experience should shed some light.

I think the best plan is to "convince" people around her to discuss her situation with her. NOT YOU! You would look like a scum if you moved right in after convincing her to leave him. But others can maybe find out how she really feels, and shed some light on her situation that maybe she never saw before.

either way, you're not WITH her, you only talk about how you should be with her. until she is ready to make a committment to you and to a relationship you should not be going out of your way to not flirt with someone.
