Switching Ketchup Brands

I love ketchup. But I also have been trying to rid my diet of all the hidden HFCS. I know Heinz has an organic brand, but my local grocery doesn't have it so I picked up Annie's Naturals Organic Ketchup. It rules! It has a deeper flavor, and the hint of clove in it is amazing. I was always loyal to Heinz, but now I never want to have it ever again.

High Fructose Corn Syrup. I've done a lot of reading about it lately. Since I started actively purging my diet of it, I have lost over 20 pounds and my acne (which I tried everything for short of Accutane) cleared up.

And Kat, are you also cutting out cane sugar or just HFCS? I need to lose some weight and have been breaking out more than usual...sounds like a good place to start.

Just HFCS. I eat sugar, I don't eat artificial sweeteners for the most part, unless I have a diet soda once in a while. I've read some articles recently that the research that is coming out suggests that your body sees HFCS as something different from sugar, so it doesn't cause your body to release insulin. So instead of being burned as a fuel source, it goes straight to fat storage.

I'm not really brand loyal to a bunch of items, but Heinz ketchup happens to be one thing I am loyal too.
